Throwback Thursday and a photo from 2015 of wall art in our (rental) condo in Zihuantanejo Mexico; I've always loved their whimsical art (from Diego Rivera's life size murals in the National Palace in the capital to this take on marriage by an unknown artist).
Today is the start of a trio of well known celebrations: All Hallows Eve or Halloween, All Saints Day (Nov 1) and one of my favourites Dia de los Muertos (Nov 1-2).
And of course, these three days of celebration will be followed up by a US election...whew, that is a lot of action over the next few days. Be safe out there. :D

Let's take a trip down memory lane, to a time when my photography life was much simpler. No fancy lenses, no backpacks filled to the brim, no tripods. Just a tiny little Kodak EasyShare that had no manual controls to speak of. Sometimes I do miss having a lighter load!
I may not have known much about the technical aspects of photography when I took this photo, but it still stands out to me as one of my favorites from Paris. After all, all the technical knowledge and fancy gear in the world doesn't guarantee a good photo.

For #ThrowbackThursday this shot taken in late 2009 during my very first "studio" shoot, with local hopeful Toronto actress/singer Tina Hung.
I made every technical mistake in the book, but learned a hell of a lot, naturally. Although this was a bit underexposed and the key light was poorly positioned, luckily I shot it in RAW and so I have been able to "rescue" it in this brand new edit I just did for #TBT.
The studio, in case you didn't guess, was my living room. Main light was a speedlight in an umbrella, camera-right. The background was lit by a bare flash with a homemade snoot shooting through an IKEA room divider, camera-left.

Dad has no info on this, I think it is a CNW (maybe FRV?) freight switching the Grandville interchange sometime in the past. I could be horribly wrong. Enjoy!
A Throwback Thursday special. Cruising to the Bahamas from Miami in 1962 at age 17. Yes, "Mad Men" is right, we dressed up for every occasion back then. Thus the sport coat.
my little girl just turned 5 today. I cannot believe how fast time flies!. I already gave up hope of having a child, but God really do work in mysterious ways. She came into our lives unexpectedly. And I am very thankful and blessed because I was given the oppurtunity to be a mom. Happy Birthday to you my Kulit. Mommy and Daddy loves you so much
#throwbackthursday: Looking back on it, Delaney has pretty much always had the superhero mentality. Halloween pic from three (?) years ago...
