Description: This photograph is part of the Cananea, Mexico collection which includes 20 photographs of Cananea, Mexico located just across the Arizona border showing striking miners, armed men, demonstrations, the mine site, town views and American company employees. Included are views of Colonel William C. Greene of Cananea Consolidated Copper Company addressing strikers, June 3, 1906. The conflict is considered a key event in the general unrest that emerged during the final years of the regime of President Porfirio Diaz and that prefigured the Mexican Revolution of 1910.

I got the chance to visit Villa D'Este in Tivoli, Italy during a work trip back in 2004. Beautiful place and fountains.
VANCOUVER CITY POLICE...circa 1916.
According to my family lore, my grandfather was part owner of the (first) Indian Motorcycle shop in Vancouver, BC. (He is the civilian on the right side of the photo.) They provided the Vancouver City Police with their very first motorcycles. The first delivery was 4 bikes...This photo depicts the police department officially receiving one of them.

Way back in 2007, I bought my first DSLR, my Nikon D80 that was only replaced this year because it had finally given up on me.
Back in 2007 I knew nothing about photography, I had bought this rather expensive camera and was using it as a point and shoot.
It actually took a few years for me to dive deeper into photography and take an interest in the technical side of things rather than just composition.
So when I bought my Nikon D80 I hadn't a clue and looking back on my photos from my trip to Walt Disney World in September of 2007 it's completely obvious just how clueless I was.
So in honour of the things I didn't know then, the things I know now, and the things I still haven't figured out; I'm posting one of my earliest (digital) attempts at something past a snapshot.

These are members of my maternal family. I'm not sure about the fellow on the extreme left. Thomas (second from the right) is my Grandpa. I estimate this photo to have been taken in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
