In the United States, Pepsi recently brought out the limited time product called Pepsi-Cola throwback, which is Pepsi with SUGAR instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup (aka corn syrup). Most soda beverages in the US have HFCS for the last few decades. Here in Canada, sometimes the beverages have sugar, sometime they have HFCS (that's why you see Glucose-Fructose/and or Sugar).

I brought a package back from the US. After trying it out, I find it definitely does taste different than what I'm used to here in Canada.. I can't tell if the Canadian variety I regularly drink has HCFS or sugar or what. But I find that Pepsi Throwback has a nice smooth taste, very light in the aftertaste, and in general, a very good Pepsi. Definitely better than usual.

A regular can of Pepsi here in Canada leaves this nasty film on my tongue after drinking, it sometimes has a very bitter taste to it, but it has exceptions, and the film on my tongue also leaves a nasty aftertaste.

I enjoyed throwback more than I expected.. but it was more expensive than a regular case of Pepsi here in Canada, usually $3.50 or so for 12 cans, while a 12 of throwback cost around $4.50-5.00 US. It would be amazing to see this become a staple product for Pepsi, people are learning about what HCFS (or corn syrup) is now days. Plus people like my father say "Coke/Pepsi was better in my days", well that's the reason why, it had real sugar.

Throwback to last year in May at my bridal shower. My gal friends and I had lots of fun being goofy instead of taking serious or "sexy" photos. Here we see two faeries having crashed into the wall of flowers.

Temperance at six months old. I don't have too many pictures of her in this age bracket because she was so unhealthy and missing so much fur :l You can't tell too much in this picture and it shows how happy and strong she was through it. She was the first rescue dog that I just couldn't let go... even when I got her a clean bill of health. I don't know if it was the year long battle of every possible thing that could go wrong, and then overcoming it or the bond we formed through our rocky roads. She's by far got one of the closest spots in my heart <3

Last throwback!

Its been a year! I had sooo many that I liked and couldn't decide which should have been the last one.... I ended up with a headache and picked at random.

I guess I picked this one because its a forgotten vehicle and its popularity has risen greatly over the last couple of years. I remember in my young model car building days Challengers where my fave....

In the early 50's DeGrazia started working on ceramics. This is when he perfected his copper-based glaze. NBC studios recorded a newsreel, called 'Watch the World,' where they filmed DeGrazia and Marion making these ceramics. He used original molds and his inspirations were taken from desert shapes and colors. Happy Throwback Thursday!

Pepsi Throwback, made with natural sugar. Not as good as regular Pepsi, but I could get used to it - and I like the logo much better than the new one.

A photograph from the first Floppy Hat Day, held April 16, 1971 at Sangamon State University. The event was held in response to criticisms from a State Senator regarding Professor Gus Stevens' wearing a hat "in the presence of ladies." Stevens commented: "It's not what we wear, but what's under our hats that counts."

Beginning with his Masters Thesis paintings in the mid-1940’s and continuing through the mid-1950’s, artist Ted DeGrazia produced a small number of nonrepresentational abstract oils, watercolors, and screen prints. Although these pure abstracts account for less than one half of one percent of his known work, DeGrazia repeatedly explored the style and devoted serious attention to it for more than a decade. Happy Throwback Thursday!

Me at the thinnest I've been in my adult life--94 pounds. (Sounds emaciated but it isn't when you're 4'6".)

Moving with his family from Oakland, CA Robert Spray settled in Tucson, AZ where he established a silkscreen shop. He began painting portraits as a student at McClymonds High School, which led to a scholarship at the CCAC. During the 1930s he was employed on the Federal Art Project. Screen printer Robert Spray beautifully captured Ted DeGrazia’s artistic style and color palette in this series of prints he produced for the DeGrazia Studios in the early 1950’s. Happy Throwback Thursday!

A very limited number of these unsigned and unnumbered screen prints are available for purchase in our gift shop at the Gallery in the Sun, $175.00 (unframed) or $250.00 (framed).

Dad and I after building the best wall unit we ever constructed. Dresser, entertainment stand, massive desk and bookshelves all connected to load baring walls. Sturdy as hell.
