Spring in Asakusa, Tokyo. At Sensōji, a popular Buddhist temple and tourist attraction, people praying for all things good; health, wealth and relationships and more.
Was out in the woods this afternoon with a friend shooting. Reminded me of a shoot a long time ago. Fun stuff. Cool things are on the horizon.
Moving with his family from Oakland, CA Robert Spray settled in Tucson, AZ where he established a silkscreen shop. He began painting portraits as a student at McClymonds High School, which led to a scholarship at the CCAC. During the 1930s he was employed on the Federal Art Project. Screen printer Robert Spray beautifully captured Ted DeGrazia’s artistic style and color palette in this series of prints he produced for the DeGrazia Studios in the early 1950’s. Happy Throwback Thursday!
A very limited number of these unsigned and unnumbered screen prints are available for purchase in our gift shop at the Gallery in the Sun, $175.00 (unframed) or $250.00 (framed).
I had been saving three legged OJ Simpson for a special occasion. That is TODAY!
Happy Throwback Thursday/Thanksgiving to you all!
I wish I were more of a Pepsi or Mountain Dew fan in times like this (Coke really is tons better!). However, I was still bummed when I missed the chance to buy the Throwback when it came out earlier in 2009 and excited to hear they released it again. I like this packaging better anyway. I'll have to save some cans since that old Pepsi logo is a classic. Also available is "Dr. Pepper Heritage", but I passed on that.
I understand this has been out for awhile already, so if you want some you'd better get out and get it.
I am always lately doing either art or my fiscal.

Will you look at that... Mercs back to back!
Again I decided to go with a Mercury for this weeks Throwback Thursday! This one a little classier then the Lucious one from last week. Well call this one the Husbands and last week's the Wife's!
This week we go back thirty-one years to 1993 and to 93 KE 1919 in the Phoenix Park.
This bus was a Northern Counties Paladin on a Volvo B10B chassis and was owned by Irish Commercials. It went on lease with Dublin Bus in July 1993 to evaluate its performance. It primarily operated on the 38 and the 40/A, and was based out of Phibsborough Garage. Bus Eireann trialled the bus in Cork and by 1995 it was in Limerick. Bus Eireann at some point bought the bus from Irish Commercials, and it was allocated fleet number VNC 1. While with Bus Eireann, it lost its middle door. It stayed in service in Limerick on the city routes until around 2006 when it was withdrawn. It remained in Limerick Garage until around 2010.
The bus was in the Phoenix Park for a bus rally which used to be a regular event on the calendar.

The guy in the front is Shawn a.k.a. Big Shawn Don. He was friends with Ebony and my older cousin back when i was growing up – producer and aspiring rapper since he was maybe in the 8th grade. I came home (springfield, ohio) from my freshman year of college and my cousin set up a little photo shoot for him and the group, Poetical Priznas. The photos were to be used for their CD cover.
Now I believe he is working with our hometown superstar, John Legend, on some projects. He also dated my sister's good friend (my long long long time crush)
The other cats are LA (red hat) King T(black hat) and Speedy (brick cell phone).
