Taken for "Crazy Tuesday" group theme "THREE IN A ROW"
A case of seeing the theme and then making it your own!
No PEOPLE - one of the rules! So this is a Dolls House figure and a rather battered one too.
THREE IN A ROW - the theme! My three identical black plastic miniature chairs are all lined up.
So its 'Crazy Tuesday' and if it puts a smile on your face who really cares that much!
She really is a 'scruffy' character - came from that 'auction' site and cost all of £0.99. She has to be worth more than that even wearing that skirt! And that hair ... !

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
Macro Monday theme: In a row
My oldest daughter heard the theme and immediately said, "Tic-tac-toe three in a row!" My youngest then drew the classic game. Thought it was a fun take on the theme.
"BV01 - Pretty in Pink Carnations" by Patti Deters. A trio of white bud vases, each holding a single soft pink carnation flower and lined up in a row, looks simple, fresh, and pretty. This is a simple vignette modern still life photograph with a digitally applied oil paint texture background. Highland Cows these three were very interested in us I suspect they thought we were bringing food, I love the rusty brown ones but the black is lovely too and there is a little bit in the fringe and head that show the same colour as the other two.

Four days ago, on 20 July, I went for my first physiotheray appointment for my injured right shoulder. Apparently, I have a frozen shoulder as well as the completely torn tendons from my trip and bad fall in September 2022. Great physio assessment and treatment for an hour and a half, which included acupuncture, TENS, ultrasound, and suction cups.
Like in so many other places, and for so many other people, our weather has been crazy - either smoky, hot, or rainy - or all three at once. The other day, the smoke from our Alberta wildfires returned to the Calgary area. Almost every day the past few weeks, the weather forecast has included risk of thunderstorm, rain, sometimes smoke. Some days, the forecast turned out to be accurate, many days it turned out to be wrong. Anyway, on 13 July 2023, I needed to get out for a while. Also, I read that the berry U-picks at the Saskatoon Farm start on 17 July, which will mean that the parking lots will be packed, so I wanted to avoid that.
I hadn't been to the Farm since last year, perhaps a couple of months after September, when I had my bad trip and fall. During all the (7!) winter months, there was no way I wanted to be walking on snow and ice, given all the damage to my body from my fall, and definitely wanting to avoid any risk of slipping or tripping again! I really missed calling in at the Farm and having either a delicious breakfast or lunch. So, finally, I made myself do this on 13 July 2023.
It felt good wandering the grounds and walking through the greenhouse, taking a few photos. Fresh garden vegetables have started being available, but not yet broccoli, etc.. Knowing that I only wanted a light bag to carry back to the car, I chose a few white potatoes (delicious) and a bunch of golden beets.
After the Farm, I had planned to drive straight home but changed my mind and took the longer way back, via Blackie. The canola fields were just beautiful. A few birds were seen, including one of my favourites, a Wilson's Snipe. I had seen a Snipe at this location before, but it was not my more usual place.
The weather was a mix of Alberta wildfire smoke, wind, overcast, and rain (part of the time). Far from ideal conditions for photography, but I did my best.
The hygge philosophy is one that consists of understanding life in a different way to enjoy it thanks to the practice of simple and comfortable plans as tools to achieve happiness and absolute well-being.
In my case, this photo represents a happy autumn day full of hygge.

Another long drive today, hoping to find a Snowy Owl, but out of luck again. Unfortunately, not a single one to be seen anywhere. I did notice that a very experienced birder covered some of the same roads as I did, and she had no Snowy Owl sightings posted on eBird for today.

Yesterday, I was out for about five and half hours, driving NE of the city. Takes roughly an hour and a quarter to get to the area I wanted, so by the time I allow the same for the return journey, it doesn't leave much time for searching the back roads. However, I covered the roads that I wanted, so it was worth it.
The only birds I saw were three Magpies, about 8 Gray Partridge flying fast across the road, and maybe half a dozen small birds that could have been House Sparrows, also flying across the road.
Not much in the way of new-to-me barns, except at one location that I came across. I had heard of this old homestead, that had been used in the making of the film, "Brokeback Mountain", but had never seen it before. Oh, I guess I was wrong! After checking my photos from the previous drive I had done with my daughter on 22 November 2019, I discovered that I had in fact taken photos of some of the barns (from the road, as always). Guess I didn't realize back then what this homestead had been used for - an actual farm that was used in the beautiful, though sad, movie, "Brokeback Mountain". The old barns in this photo were along the same road.
Well folks, we've done it again, we finally reached Friday - weyhey :)
These sparrows hung around the fence for ages, and there had been five of them flying off and on and switching places, this was the best one but I'm still a bit disappointed I couldn't get them all in sharp focus, but at least I got one in the background in flight.
Hope you all have a great Friday and thank you so much for all the views, comments and faves :)
I managed to get to the seaside before the end of August, and as I was walking on the beach, I saw these three sandcastles in a row and decided they were just what I needed for this theme!

Is it bedtime yet? Today was a stretch for my brain, I'm still trying to work through the foggy period of starting up French lessons again and my mind was overworked with problems that needed solving in the office.
Oh, and I think I'm getting a cold, which is slowing down my thought process... so that helped things out.
Oh well, one more workday to go, and the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend so if this cold I feel coming on doesn't actually hit me I should be able to get out an enjoy the warm temperatures and sunshine. Fingers crossed!
Hope everyone has had a good day.
