Three pigs and wolf from Guardian Newspaper advert in Guardian reception, Kings Place, London
I copied this from a Christmas card, I made it for a Spanish friend, in Spain they celebrate the Three Kings on the 6th January rather then Christmas.
"The Chiostro dei Benedettini (Benedictines' cloister) behind the Duomo of Monreale is a masterpiece of 12th century art with Arab-Norman arches borne by 228 twin columns (four on each corner). All columns have carved Romanesque capitals, of which very few are alike. They are the work of five master craftsmen, assisted by several apprentices. Many of the columns are also decorated with Arab style diaper work — decorative treatment of a surface with a repeat pattern of squares (chequers), rectangles, or lozenges; some other columns are adorned with carved reliefs.
The capitals depict biblical scenes and allegories, mythological scenes, quasi-heraldic elements, Arab warriors and Norman knights, as well as fauna and foliage motifs. Even the Classical subjects betray a certain inventiveness: the acanthus leaves of the Corinthian capitals, for example, appear ruffled by the wind."

Photograph taken at 12:41pm on Thursday 24th April 2014 off Buckingham Gate abd Palace Street within the grounds of the Royal Mews, just beside the horse training arena in central London, SW1A.
These three Metropolitan Police riders had just been exercising their beautiful Equines in the arena, exiting just as we came to the end of a very enjoyable visit to the stables and carriages (well worth the £8.75 entrance fee.

The Three Barons Renaissance Faire is an annual event held every June for two weekends in Anchorage, Alaska. Due to other travel plans I was only able to attend on one day this year, and like most of this crappy summer it was a less than ideal day - gray, cold and very windy so there was a lot of dust getting kicked up. The number of players seems low from prior years and due to a scheduling snafu the belly dancers didn't perform. Despite all that it was a decent event - and we're all hoping for better luck next year.
We hope you all had such lovely presents under the Christmas palm tree as our three pirates!
