Life is BIG!!
These are the three Malibu’s in my collection! The one on the left is my mother’s from her childhood, then my sister’s 2009 repro, then the one on the right I got off of eBay with a Sun Lovin’ Skipper for about $4. I don’t typically display my mother’s as I am using her body for my mother’s hair fair, which shows in the quality of her hair. Girl needs a wash and style bad. (If anyone has an extra body from the mod era they’d like to sell me for my hair fair please tell me! I’d love to be able to display both Malibu and hair fair!) I do have that original swimsuit, but like the swimsuit for my other original Malibu, the seam on a side is torn. Nothing a little sewing can’t fix! Her face seems to be more high color than my other original Malibu. You can see it in her eyebrows and blush. Then I have my sister’s repro. I won’t lie in saying that I for sure talked my sister into this one back in 2009, using the fact Mom had one as a persuasion point. I do hate how they made the hair so thick on this doll. She badly needs a restyle to tame that volume. Her swimsuit has a huge run in the back sadly. Then I have the Malibu I bought for myself. For me, Malibu barbie is one of those dolls that I don’t mean to get a lot of but I always catch myself looking them up online to buy! This gal I just couldn’t pass up for the price! She has some plugs at the front of the hairline cut but they’re hidden well by the hair. Like I said above, her suit has a seam ripped but her body is in exquisite condition. Definitely worth the price!
The dealer stated the unit was the 24th Reserve Division in France but there is no information on the reverse.

After seeing the eggs on display at the Winterton Show, I thought I'd do an egg based still life.
I wasn't sure what the competition was at the show. I'm assuming it was the best looking 3 eggs. I also assume your hen had to lay them.
I don't have a hen but I have an egg box. Luckily we had three eggs left.
This little guy has been hanging out at my in-laws house for several weeks.
It shows up every once in a while to say "hi", then goes back in some hole where it lives.
A nearby water fountain seems to be a good and wet enough habitat for it to be happy and thrive.
Yesterday it jumped out just before a pizza dinner, and posed for me on one of the patio chairs. It was incredibly patient, and allowed me to take many shots at various distances without jumping in my lens.
I am starting to think that I am either very lucky, or that little creatures enjoy having their photos taken :)
Happy Monday!
Tomorrow it will be my last upload and visit to your streams for a few days, before I take off for an all Shakespeare vacation at the Ashland Shakespearian Festival. 4 days, 5 plays. My ideal kind of vacation.
Tiny Key Deer Fawns grazing in a residential neighborhood under the watchful eye of two female deer. I think that two were twins and one was not since he was a little larger. I found them in No Name Key.
What an eyesore this must be for the poor neighbours. I can't work out if the washing line is a security feature or simply holding all the junk in! I was able to get a clear shot of this because there was no wall, fence, nothing!
The most interesting thing here is the DVLA details...

So, only 3 years on the road and 19 years off. I'd love to know what the story is here.

I was in Paris, France once at a posh restaurant of Champs Elysees, Elisha Cuthbert sitting at the table next to our (true story, though not the point of this story; right at the height of season one of 24 and even there she got some stares and whispers).
I was eating duck and pureed potatoes (I believe that just meant mashed) and the best green beans of my life. But the duck - Well, even though the entree was 60 pounds (which I believe was $90 at the time; a work-related trip with a high cash flow technology startup and a CEO impressing impressing clients - I would never have paid that for duck), I can officially say I DO NOT like duck. Can't, won't, refuse to consider it again.
But again, that is also not the point of my story. My point was that the restaurant had the BEST flatware solely because the forks were three-prong forks... Which I just think is the coolest thing in the world. I don't know why. I just do.
My point? Three prong forks rock!!
Amadiz Studio wigs:
Ginger Vintage, Golden Renaissance and Marianne.
Ginger is a mono-colour wig, and the others are multicolour. The main colour of Golden Renaissance is Brandy. Marianne is copper, on a base of caramel, which softens the copper colour.
A departure from the norm here for me, but I really liked the gentle dreamy tones rather than going for full-on intense colour.....

July 27, 2021: Bronze sculpture "Three Generations" in front of the Goebel Adult Community Center in Thousand Oaks. The 1992 Norman Rockwell-style sculpture by Ann LaRose sits in deep shade underneath a couple of trees. The heavily backlit location makes photographing the sculpture a challenge. To get this image, I took advantage of this morning's heavy cloud clover and the Pro Camera app's HDR function to get this iPhone capture. I like this sculpture, but not the green bird waste. Time for cleaning!
