Three Crows lay on my arms, three cows whispers will do me no harm. I fear nothing, I feel nothing, just three crows sitting on my arms
Interesting little three wheeler that was for sale. The engine was set between the driver's legs and steering was done via bike style handle bars.
"Rise up this morning
smiled with the rising sun
three little birds
pitch by my door step
singing sweet songs
of melodies pure and true
saying, this is my message to you:
Don't worry about a thing
cause every little thing is gonna be alright
don't worry about a thing
every little thing is gonna be alright."

Seen on the back of a car. I've been seeing these laughing bears for years, but don't know anything about them.
Another shot of the rare Bond 750 at Stratford on Avon. A friend had one of these and informed me of some long forgotten facts. Firstly you only required a motorbike licence. The body was Aluminium, the engine was the Villiers 250cc unit. This retained its kick start, so if the battery let you down you could open the bonnet and kick start it. No screen heaters, bit of problem in the cold weather. In those days you could buy a stick on heater from Halfords etc, which did little to help the battery, that's were the kick start comes in. There was also something strange about the gearbox. I THINK it had three or four forward gears. To get reverse you stopped the engine, and selected reverse, which gave you the same number of gears going backward. This should have been the original Bond film car, after a long ride in one of these you were left " Shaken and not stirred". Would love to hear more facts about this British classic, they did a good job in there day.

This is the first major sign that greets drivers as they arrive in Washington, DC via the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.
The first three options lead into that famously tangled mess of highways southeast of the Kennedy Center. The signs themselves could be simplified: first, let's use a consistent font. The two EASTs are clearly different. I would also center them with the numbers in the highway symbols (66 and 50). I would consistently abbreviate Avenue - you see they use Ave with Constitution but spell it out with Independence. I'd always use Ave and keep it on the same line as Independence. Next, there's no need to indicate Downtown under 50 EAST - I'd consider E Street to be closer to downtown anyways.
That boxy truck on the left is used to move the concrete barriers two times every work day. They switch the direction of the middle lane since the traffic flow is lopsided, with more cars driving into the city in the morning and then flocking into Virginia at night. It would be interesting to see whether patterns have normalized as DC experiences a housing boom and Virginia experiences a jobs boom.
well maybe not yet, but soon to be as I'm about to eat them all up.

This brings memories of a special day during last years survey season, during which me and my colleague was surveying the fences, which is later to become boundaries, around a relatively large summer pasture.
These heifers, or young cows that had not given birth to calves, was the curious kind and followed our work several hours. The one on the left even got close and sniffed us.
Later that day or the next my colleague found a lot of Chanterelle mushrooms nearby.
Unfortunately I only took a few photos of this, which came out rather dark. This one even had some work done to it in GIMP.

Erosion in Three Gorges reservoir has turned out to be even more serious than expected. The reservoir’s fluctuating water levels are destabilizing the slopes along much of the reservoir, and have triggered major landslides. Bringing erosion under control will require several hundred thousand more people to be displaced.
