I saw Chinese thread books online and fell in love. I was doing a zentangle project…and decided to combine the two. Origami and I are not the best of friends…yet…so I had to make SO many boxes to get what I wanted…and ended up with 3 books. The boxes open in different ways and are stacked on top of each other to hold thread, pattern pieces, small scissors, buttons…etc. SO much fun!

Spinning in circles,

Only separated by threads.

Don't know what you were getting yourself into, you should have known secretly, I think you knew.

Looks like electric thread, without the wires... New holographic thread color from Kreinik: Solar Silver in Blending Filament. The holographics have flecks of color that make them look wet and 3-dimensional.

Ayer ví la película "Threads". Uno agradece que la guerra fría haya acabado...

La foto en sí no me gusta mucho, quizás parte del cielo y poco más. Pero la luz del sol me recuerda en plan "destello a bomba nuclear".

*** Assignment [Machinery]: Finalist #1 ***

On vacation, I mentioned to Chris' Aunt that my assignment was "machinery" and she lit up like a light bulb and took me downstairs to her workshop where she has tons of sewing and embroidery machines. This was a little old Singer, and I really like the way the colors reflected off the side of it [I had it sitting on brightly colored floor mats [yellow and red]. I thought the detailing on the knob was neat as well... I'm thinking about dusting off the old machine that I have, and trying out sewing some skirts!

Our first attempt to get some photos for the website. A mixed bag.

I was looking into this plant that lives over my sink when I saw this leaf just floating in the heart of it. Even after seeing it in the picture (looks about 50 microns thick, based on counting pixels), I still can't see the thread with my naked eye.

My mother-in-law has been saving fabric scraps and threads from all her sewing projects since the 70s. Some of these threads are much older than that that she got at an auction. They are all in such awesome condition. Wonder if any antiquers out there are looking for threads....

I didn't followed the instructions... we were supposed to use a fabric with a light cotton pattern, so that it would be easy for us to trace the pattern on it. I realized it too late, so most of my stitching is made free handed, without a guide line. It's not bad for my first time.

One of my friends got me all of this thread to make friendship bracelets. I haven't had time to make any yet, but I'm so psyched to start! :D <3 The colors are so pretty!

I was on the river Thames today at Radcot. This group had just taken hire of a river barge after some training. They were probably worried about their first solo task which was the boating equivalent to threading a needle.
