The NC Coastal Land Trust hosted its Flytrap Frolic in the Stanley Rehdar Carnivorous Plant garden. This is the first time I have seen the Thread Leaf Sundew (Drosera filiformis Raf.) in the garden. This species is supposed to be expatriated from New Hanover County (plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=DRFI), so it was a special treat to see it. Perhaps it was planted from a cultivar? Regardless, its a beautiful plant.
These appear to be listed as "Significantly Rare" in North Carolina (www.ncwildflower.org/plant_galleries/carnivorous).

In my wire sculptures I use a combination of very different techniques and processes. They are, for example, interlacing and rolling in a single thread directly.
By interweaving the threads leaving the negative space as dominant, sometimes the modeling is combined with pliers.
I present a Photo Portafolio of both concrete examples of these sculptures as well as a summary of procedure and associations to the varied traditions of contemporary trends that nurture and inspire this extraordinary art where hands with few complements are the main tool and of course the capacity of one's creation.

This Civil War period dress was one of my favorites at Sarah and George's wedding. In this shot, the wearer seems to be looking at a loose thread.
The 2 yellow ones are vintage crocheted thread holders approx 3". They were used to hold darning thread and has a felt circle lining the inside lid to hold your needles. I crocheted the red one making it a little bigger to hold tatting threads for taking along with me to crochet on the go.
Made different approaches on the HMM theme Needle and Thread, this one I like as well. Not sure what this is called, in Germany we call it : Einfädelhilfe.
If anyone knows pls let me know so I can tag it accoardingly.
Thanks in advance!

The toughest part of getting this shot was getting the thread between the two sides of the opening in the needle!

just playing with spools of thread, doll heads and ornament hooks--all vintage.... I really like her despite the fact that my 6 year old stained her with rasberry hands!

This is simply a threaded water/sewer pipe that is sticking up in a ditch. I probably should have found a way to clean off the dirt but by the time I could have done that, I would have lost the light that attracted me in the first place.
I'm taking a fabulous class which involves a lot of hand stitching and a wide variety of threads. Some people collect different threads like others collect fabric! The different displays of everyone's threads was beautiful for sure. For this shot, my camera was set at f1/8 and I focused on one spool of Perle Cotton, letting the others blend and meld together. cy365 335/365
