3rd submission to the Get Pushed group.
This time I got paired with lovely and talented Candice aka GummyPiglet. She originally challenged me to a sunset portrait with specific aperture and shutter speed, however as it's been raining and overcast all week over here she kindly set me with a new challenge: shooting an urban landscape! Definitely not what I usually go for, which took me out of my comfort zone in terms of finding an interesting subject and composing the shot!
Thanks Candice for the challenge, and I can't wait to see yours!
Head over to my website if you are looking for a photographer in Cambridge!
Those familiar with this kind of scene may recognize that much of the lovely green here is tender young growth of ... poison ivy. One of the reasons I don't get back in here much in summer.
Bald Cypress, Durham County, North Carolina.

He was crying hard among those happy people in sunflower field and that stopped me from taking photo. I thought he was crying for his father who carrying the elephant for walk.
But actually they are local boys while elephants live in other province far, far from his place. The young boy has never seen elephant before in his life. So he was scared and really afraid of elephant, the most giant animal he has ever seen in his life ....
I tried to think as him... what an animal it is... so big, so black, so long nose, so small eyes, so different ...so scary...
Hope it is not a sin but I ca'nt help smiling. I took photos near them and talked to them, sooner the young boy paid attention to my question, to me and to what I did.. (taking photo). His face changed from crying to curious and later on he pose me for taknig shots.. He then forgot how much he was afraid of elephant..
I just love the feeling of first time seeingthing of kid... His brother was so nice. He carried his young but heavy brother to soothe him well and didn't forget to give me smile.

For those who are familiar with Toronto and how much it's grown (and for those who weren't born yet), this is our view as my friend drives us in his AMC "Gremlin" from the last set of pictures at Park Lawn Ave. and our eventual destination at CN's roundhouse by Spadina Ave. We're going down the Queen Elizabeth Expressway ("QEW") and this is the view of downtown Toronto. The "CN Tower" is seen between the nearest and second nearest light poles; it hadn't been there for long.
A bushbuck.
The Bushbuck is an antelope that is found in forest and woodland throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
Bushbuck stand about 90 centimetres at the shoulder and weigh from 30 to 80 kilograms. They have a light brown coat, with up to seven white stripes and white splotches on the sides. The muzzle is also white. Horns are found only on the males and they can reach over half a metre with only one twist.
A wonderful sight from the Mabalingwe Nature reserve, Limpopo province, South Africa.
Those Canadian visitors didn't bring any whiskey with them, but this weather is downright drinking weather! Certainly not a chamber of commerce day by any stretch, but the fog and mist does make for quite a moody scene from downtown Opelika. Shortly before a line of strong thunderstorms would move through East Alabama, a big CP SD70ACU leads M527 south towards Montgomery as the dispatcher was issuing high wind warnings for them to watch for about 30 miles ahead.
Big Daddy's rear view; while his fantastic horns are certainly impressive, I would most of all love to scratch behind those big ears, which you will note are carefully tuned to my direction, just in case I decide to try!
For those of you that don't know me, I apologize in advance. For those that do know me, what did you expect, right?
You all know the story of Frosty the Snowman....or do you?
FROSTY THE (KILLER) SNOWMAN
Frosty the snowman was a salty stabby soul
With meth in his pipe, cocaine up his nose
And two eyes as red as coals
Frosty the snowman is a serial killer they say
He was made of woe but the children know
How he came to kill one day
There must have been some magic in that old
crack pipe they found
For when they put it in his mouth he
began to dance around
Frosty the snowman went on a killing spree
And the children say he laughed while he
was killing you and me
Thumpetty thump thump
Thumpetty thump thump
Look at Frosty go!
Thumpetty bang bang
Thumpetty bang bang
So much blood covers the snow!
Frosty the snowman knew they were on his trail that day
So he said “Let’s run and I’ll have some fun now before
I get locked away”.
Down to the village with an AR in his hand
Running here and there with a machete for flare
Yelling “Catch me if you can!”
He chased them down the streets of town
Right to a street beat cop
And he only paused a moment to say “pop pop, pop pop”
Frosty the snowman had to hurry on his way
But he waved good bye and said “Don’t you smile,
I’ll be back to kill some day”
Thumpetty thump thump
Thumpetty thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpetty thump thump
Thumpetty thump thump
Tons of blood covering the snow..
It's precisely on those sandbars in Long Island Sound that my friends and I used to build massive "sand cities" back in the early to mid 1970s during low tide. (see below).
That's the Villa Rosa mansion on the left. It's got quite a history!
Remodel, Week 32
From those aisle signs, we turn our attention to the right and find… new décor all throughout the fresh grocery area! Shown here are the produce, bakery, and meat departments, as viewed from afar. (Close-up shots of each are to follow soon.) I don’t have a before view from this particular angle, but you may still be able to picture in your mind the previous layout: produce, and its walk-in cooler, did not used to be over here at all; instead, that white service department wall extended all the way over to the left of the shot, with all baked goods on display tables out in front. That kitchenware aisle, meanwhile, used to be full-sized and housed soda.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
