The rule of thirds is the first compositional rule most photographers learn; but most don't know why they learn it. The rule of thirds is amazing for telling a story.
I took a photo of this bird cleaning its beak with fresh snow before swooping back down again to get bird seeds from the ground.

Two cops were shot during third shift two nights ago, down in the meat quarter. They were left in an alley, a round in the back of their heads. Dirty or not, I know you know what happened to them, and you're going to tell me Brandon. You use your girls for information instead of sex, don't think your so sly that we don't know about that. You think I won't leave you a cold corpse in this alley? What about your poor mother in that big apartment all by herself? You going to let her wonder what happened to her son? Tell me what I want to know, and I'll go away.
~Shoutout to Bryan for the dope pimp cane that you can't really see in this shot, but it's there! Thanks again for that man
This was a really quick drawing (more like a sketch). Once I drew the outline I went off on my own on the lines all over him. So he may not look just like the picture. I drew him from this picture. images.hellokids.com/_uploads/_tiny_galerie/20140731/groo.... The picture looks WAY better in person, the scanner I use is old and kinda ruins the picture. I want to draw all of the Guardians, I think my next one will be Star-Lord. I hope you guys like him. :)

Originally a lot taller this statue of George 111 was too close to a nearby WW2 RAF bomber base's approach pattern. The RAF decided to blow it up to eliminate the danger posed to aircraft, the top section was recovered and placed in the grounds of Lincoln castle where this image was taken.
A Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae) perches expectantly outside Newcastle's Fishing Co-operative. This one is displaying adult plumage but still retains darker youthful tones on its eye-ring, bill, legs and feet.

Marking my third catch of a Montana Rail Link SD70ACE, MRL #4305 trails behind two BNSF Gevos on an EB Q train for Cicero. While this isn’t as dramatic as the first time(s) I caught MRL units in my area (let alone two in one day), this was still a major highlight of the day and it’s good to know that BNSF is finally putting these units on trains that aren’t coal trains!
Before I end off here, I’d like to take the time to remind many of how Montana Rail Link power used to be relatively common as foreign power and how they used to have far greater roots in Illinois. When first created some of their units could sometimes be seen on BN (later BNSF) trackage and there was a slight chance they could even make appearances on foreign railroads! But in the early to mid 90s, MRL even took ownership of the ex Milwaukee Road trackage between Elgin, IL (East of there is the Metra owned Milwaukee West Line to Chicago just to point out for my fellow fans along that territory) and Iowa and other lines that radiated off that set of trackage in Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota from SOO Line/CP Rail. To top it off, they even created a whole new railroad known as the “I&M Rail Link” (reporting mark IMRL) to operate this trackage (note both MRL and IMRL still used the same dark blue MRL paint scheme btw)!
However in the early 2000s, IMRL wasn’t making much of a profit so all of its trackage was sold to the Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern Railroad (DM&E) which in 2002 created the Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern Railroad (IC&E) to operate this new territory for the DM&E (both roads locomotives sported a badass blue and gold paint job and we’re sometimes interchanged with each other on occasion for road trains)!
However, in 2008, CP ended up taking back what used to theirs and chopped up a potential plan to reach the powder river basin and sold some of old DM&E mainlines in North Dakota to the Genesee and Wyoming owned “Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern” (reporting mark RCPE. Also thanks a lot Hunter Harrison).
The way MRL managed to grow as a company will always be interesting after its 1987 startup to being acquired by BNSF in the beginning of 2024. It was quite possibly one of the most profitable and successful regional railroads alongside the Wisconsin Central who also was starting to get a kickstart around the same time span which goes to show even the smallest of railroads can put itself to the test!

SUNRISE at Sea ~ very windy photo-shoot from the top-deck
Just north-west of the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Sea
*{About The Shot: I am compelled to tell the story of this early morning sunrise-shoot as it was like nothing else I've ever experienced as a seasoned cruiser. This was shot in 'sustained' 50mph winds with gusts up to 60-70mph! Shot through a slit in the glass of the viewing platform 12 decks up, the sunrise was directly in front of the bow. Myself and 2 others were the only photographers crazy enough to attempt this, and we could barely stand! We were laughing...but we got our shots. If the half-wall and glass were not there we would not have been able to stand-up. We had to anchor our cameras against the iron supports just to hold it steady. A tri-pod...forget it! I get up for every sunrise and try not to miss these opportunities (even though it was 7AM and I got to bed at 2:30AM!) LOL With the sun slightly off the port bow it tells me we are now steaming SE heading toward Grand Cayman, not yet visible on the horizon. - Would I do it again? You betcha!! Thanks for looking.]

Ever since I watched Jaws 3D as a kid I've had a special love for 3D. Especially the clunkier earlier format with the image split into red and blue versions with the throwaway cardboard glasses with matching coloured eye filters. Apparently this works by means of encoding each eye's image using the filters of chromatically opposite colors. When viewed through the 3D glasses, each of the two images reaches the eye it's intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain then fuses this into the perception of a 3D scene. Aren't our brains clever? I've even got a 3D tattoo. So there.
This canvas isn't in the best of shape so I'm thinking she'll make it to the streets some time soon. She can lead a new life with someone else...

Construction on this Minneapolis bridge has been underway for quite a while. With the weather turning a bit nicer, it was great to grab a camera and just walk around the city. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
While I was walking and admiring the wonderful shapes and colors of the sunset along with the sailing boats at the marina but also the trading ships far away , there was an absolute peaceful scenery and i was wondering why i was not making my move to shot this ... but then suddenly inspiration came .....yes, that was what it was missing .....this is what intrigue me to pick up my camera and shot ..... it was this theTHIRD ELEMENT... this small boat coming slowly out of the port , and with its presence breaking up the tranquility and making scenery more vivid
