The view of the Shard at low tide with London Bridge in the foreground at the wonderful blue hour.
Following on from last week's shot of the Crib Goch, this is the interesting conclusion to the ridge. The knife edge arete culminates in a very sporting clamber up and down over three pinnacles. This image shows the last of the three, and conveniently for me, three young chaps were climbing ahead of me and showed the three main stances on the ledges of the pinnacle. The lowest (guy in the black shorts) is the most precarious, the middle is easiest, and the top (guy in the red top) is a real don't look down moment if you are not keen on heights! There is a way of bypassing the second and third pinnacle by descending a fair way to the left - but why would you?
Once over the third pinnacle you descend to the col before the clamber up the Garnedd Ugain ridge which is the second section of the great Snowdon Horseshoe - there is even more fun to come!
After 2 failed days of catching 68001, I thought last night that maybe today was the day? On Tuesday I was at Stenson Jn for 6U77, but got diverted because of a bridge fall at Barrow upon Soar. On Wednesday I was at Slindon and 68001 was allocated and 68017 arrived. Today I woke up and 68017 was allocated. So a train to Stafford and a walk to Queensville Curve. As it came around the corner I saw that it was 68001! 68001 passes Queensville Curve working 6U77 the 13:42 Mountsorrel - Crewe Basford Hall 4/8/16
After Saturday's chaos on the R&N, I decided to take a little time to head over to Jersey to catch Black River and Western's 2-8-0, number 60 as she pulled the day's passenger excursions between Ringoes and Flemington, NJ. A great crew was working as usual and the sun stayed shining..
The 11:30 AM trip from Flemington crosses the Third Neshanic River in Flemington over the Copper Hill Bridge at a new vantage point thanks to some recent tree clearing work.
This is one third of Skútafoss - to the left are two more similar drops off the same rock shelf.
If it looks a little damp and foggy that's because it was starting to rain - makes a colder, starker mood, I think.

Third time lucky to get 37025 in the bling after getting done twice at the end of January in South Wales!
Here, 37025 passes the ensembled gallery at Croombe Perry Wood with 5Z37 13.30 Washwood Heath to Barry translator vehicle move on Tuesday 23rd February 2016.
Charlie made her way down the third floor corridor in the castle humming to herself, she spotted Logan among the crowd and grinned making her way over to him. Her arm extended in midair to tap his shoulder but before her finger touched him she paused coming up with a better idea. Instead she drew her wand and flicked it. A startled yell came from his lips as he was yanked into the air by his ankles. Charlie burst into a fit of laughter clutching her sides.
“Really Merle...” came Logan’s exasperated voice “this is getting a bit old”

The song of those children who dance along the cliffs, and the most beautiful place I've ever been in my life: Ha Giang, Vietnam.
She visited my backyard tree. By the way, this is on a sandalwood tree!

When a Renaissance tapestry meets Disney characters! (Another of my favorite one)
An administrative error has left Warrington short of buses to cover their contracts, to compensate several buses from local operators have been hired in to cover the shortfall.
With limited time, fading light and no idea which contract the loans would be used on I was forced to do what I hate most, stand by the depot and catch them leaving which results in very similar back drops for most of the photos that day.
66933 MX55FHH has kept its registration but little else gives away its heritage, now with Hulley’s of Baslow it was new to First Bus later passing to Go North West and is again seen on hire to Warrington leaving their depot on an evening contract.
methinks i need larger numbers!!.... some people said we had more snow than that but from the reports on the FB pages for the town, most were saying somewhere between 17" and 19"

Thank you for taking part in our third photo contest.
Unfortunately we did not receive many entries for this times photo contest.
Compared to the previous contest, we received only one-third of the entries.
And that included our blogger, who only received 15 particiapnts.
Our original plan was to award five winners, excluding our blogger, but unfortunately it was very difficult to select suitable entries for the winners.
So we made a change to choose 5 winners including our blogger.
We have chosen the following five as winners of this times contest.
Angelrose is one of the participants in every one of our photo contests.
We have two of her photos in this time contest, and both are wonderful reminders of spring.
We especially liked the one of the bakery clerk.
Dokatu is a great photographer who has won awards in photo contests in Okinawa.
We think her photos in this contest express the joy and happiness she feels as she welcomes the spring season.
Kazusa is the owner of Uzme Poses, and since she owns the Pose Store, she excels at taking photos that bring a sense of dynamism to avatars.
This time she became a clerk selling our bread.
Kixtutwun takes pictures of novel ideas for every one of our photo contests.
This time she took more interesting photos than we had expected.
This picture of her represents a scene from a Japanese sports day.
We are sure she had this experience in real life.
One of the great bloggers in our store, Tomomi.
Her photos always have a little story behind them.
This time she captured a wonderful breakfast scene.
Congratulations and best wishes to all the winners!
The Third Place
The “Grand Stair” at the newly redesigned and renovated National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Seemingly, this grand stair - with its riser seating - has become a popular third place (a social environment distinct from the home - the first place, and the workplace - the second place) for students’ and professionals alike - many of whom were engaged in social and/or personal activities during our visit.
"Originally opened in 1969, a two-years belated centennial birthday gift to Canada, and designed by Fred Lebensold of Affleck, Desbarats, Dimakopoulos, Lebensold, Sise, the existing building was a brutalist masterpiece." Today, the main public areas of the building - the atrium and mezzanine levels - are airy light-filled spaces, which overlook Confederation Square and the Chateau Laurier - in short, the view is magnificent.
