Attempt at photoshop, was meant to be part of a set but I'm still looking for a chance to take the rest of the pictures so for now this is what I have.
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.
who, for some reason, refuses to get out of the sink today.
V. inconvenient...
(OK - this doesn't have much to do with the Bathroom "remodel' - but who doesn't enjoy a gratuitious photo of a cat from time to time???)
I lived there for 18 years. I LOVE this Wing thing. The sky at dusk is so awesome here. Look at the gulls flying around. If the end of my life was near I would want to be here. The presence of a higher
being surrounds you here. See the cars driving by. People in Corpus see this everyday.
As we stood below this WHATEVER thing, both Sally and I suddenly blurted out what it reminded us of. "It's one of those battle thingies from STAR WARS!!!" They resembled big mechanical camels - very tall, metalic, walking war machines with lots of rivets and rust. I just finished GOOGLING Starwars info and discovered that they are called "All Terrain Armored Transport," or, AT-ATs. See for yourself...
Sometimes, the last thing you want comes in first, sometimes, the first thing you want never comes, and I know, the waiting is all you can do, sometimes...

On the street outside my house in Madras, India. Quick sketch. The thing went away before I finished.
Even though I know she's fine and Josh is RIGHT there, this is a really good example of why daddy's and mama's are so different. I would never have let her this close to the train! lol It's a good thing that parents tend to balance each other out so well - giving a little freedom with a little overprotectiveness. Plus, she's STILL talking about watching this train going by - she loved it!
I found this thing yesterday as I was out walking around for my Utata Thursday walk (only, it was Friday, because Thursday when I wanted to go out, we had driving rain, high winds and tornado watches all afternoon!), I stumbled into this three foot high straight thing sticking out of the ground with these wicked rings of thorns all over it (ouch!). But, really, it has a beauty all its own. Look at it large!
Heidi was rolling this blue thing for Carson, and he loved chasing it and watching it fall down. She says she didn't realize how big it was compared to him until she saw the photos later.
Thing is going to be my new reading chair.. I took my tripod off the patio (which probably creeps my neighbors out) and took a few shots inside tonight.
Believe it or not, this is my FIRST real Christmas tree. Growing up, our family always had fakes. It was the messy needles on the carpet, the constant watering. Oh, and we were never technically "home for the Holidays." We always drove to my Grandmother's (both of them).
Anyway, I have one now and it smells fantastic. :)
