Randy & Berenicci present a retrospective of their critically acclaimed video and installation works spanning the last two and a half decades of the 20th century that focuses on the concepts of catastrophe, ritual and rebirth. This will be the first compilation of an extraordinary body of work to be presented in the city in which it was created.
RANDY & BERENICCI / Randy Gledhill (Vancouver) & Berenicci Hershorn (Toronto) have, in an oeuvre spanning 30 years, produced a unique, evolving body of site-specific and time-based art (performance, installation, video, public sculpture). They have produced and presented both their solo and collaborative art internationally with an extensive history of recognition in art venues around the world. They are pioneers of a style of work that combines sensitive and playful references to site with visionary metaphors.

Gary Becker speaks with students and presenters during the 2013 Price Theory Summer Camp. The summer event was created to introduce PhD students from outside the University of Chicago to price theory, which emphasizes the application of basic economic tools to problems.
During this intensive one-week program, students hear lectures from UChicago price theory faculty and experience a series of “Chicago-style” seminars where faculty present their research in progress. Participants also work on problem sets in workshops and have opportunities to discuss their own work with some of the world's leading economists.
The program is geared toward PhD students in economics who have completed their third or fourth year of study, but applications are accepted from doctoral candidates of all levels.

CREATION THEORY
Well I wasn’t going to paint tonight but I had a very small unfinished canvas that had been primed in Primary colors which you can see there is very little of in the completed painting.
I worked on CREATION THEORY for about 3 hours tonight and I almost gave up stopping, starting, painting, looking, not seeing anything emerging while I was channeling my uncontrived painting and I did not enjoy working on it.
So I grew tired and hung her to dry on the wall and thought I would see something in the painting if I shot some pictures of it.
So I shot it and edited the pictures then sat across the room to look at my new painting.
All of a sudden I saw it and I could see more and more within this small canvas. First I saw the face of GOD staring intently at a scholar who stands in the distance.
GODS hands is reaching forward beckoning calling out to the inattentive student.
The student is not paying attention and is grasping the Book of Life in their hands their gaze is fixed forward into the horizon towards The Tree of Knowledge. If you look closely The Tree of Knowledge sits high upon a hill surrounded by blue sky and paradise. You can see that the tree roots have joined a unity with the student’s body and at the base of this scholars feet lies the tiny blue seed of EARTH that is planted deep within the brown dirt and soil. You can see that this seed is waiting to be watered and is thirsting waiting for GOD, The Student and the Tree of Knowledge to Unify which will push forward the Birth of Evolution and the Creation of Humanity.
