So here we go again! Another fun entry of 'Andrew reads old-as-dirt comic books', an ongoing series! :P
The story starts off with this scrub of a college-football-playing science nerd trying to take Joan (no last name because she was a fictional woman in the 40's) on a date. She then turns him down by saying that he sucks and she's already taken.
So Jay is all like, “Yeah good point, I'm gonna work extra hard today instead” so he goes to the field and still sucks, then he later goes to his science class and falls asleep on the job waking up at three thirty in the morning because he was waiting on separating the elements of hard water... yeah idk man.
Anyway, like a doofus, he lights up a cigarette in the lab to take a break, leans his back onto his desk, and ends up knocking all of those elements onto the floor, leading the fumes to cause him to pass out.
So he's found later by his professor, who rushes him to a hospital where he stay's unconscious for a few weeks. Then there's a few panels of unsupported scientific exposition of two scientists talking out their asses about how Hard Water is a real thing and it gives people super speed if Jay EVEN SURVIVES (dun dun dun)
But meanwhile in the other room Jay is up and about and he just happens to see Joan No-Last-Name walking outside the window and Jay's all like “Holy hard water it's that chick who said no to me!” and then without realizing it, he zips outside in... you guessed it... a flash (whomp whomp)
Outside Joan is all like “Woah where did you come from, also I'm going to the library” to which Jay is all like “nbd dude, I got you” and he zips over to the library and harasses a lady to stamp the book Joan wants.
Jay's then back in a jiff and Joan is all like “what the heck man” to which Jay responds with, and I kid you not “It scares me. I'm just a freak of science. Anyhow, will you go on that dance with me now?”
Despite all the red-flags, Joan says yes because this was the 40s... oof.
Later at the football field Jay is all like “put me in coach” and the coach is all like “fine I guess, btw you suck Jay” and then like Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 1, uses his powers like an idiot in front of hundreds of people in the stadium.
Apparently there's no repercussions over it and no one else remembers this at all because the next few panels are of Jay graduating college and reading the newspaper about some crooks doing some crime stuff.
Later Joan shows up at Jay's place and watches him play tennis with himself and is all like “hey man, my Dad's been kidnapped, could you like help maybe?” Then as they're chatting, a drive-by shooter fires off a shot at Joan, to which Jay saves the day by catching the bullet mid-air!
Cut to the shooter walking into his hideout being like “Yeah guys she'd dead I shot her, no way anybody else could have caught a bullet and saved her, anyway how's her Dad doing in the mirror torture room we tossed him in?”
Cut to Dad-Joan who's like “gah my eyes too many mirrors! Btw I'm still not telling you my secrets to my Atomic Bombarder! Gah! Mirrors! Gasp!”
The crook is all like “hmm maybe if I go get Joan's body we can get some info” so like an idiot he returns to the crime scene, bumps into Jay, asks were the dead girl is, and Jay is all like “Huh... he knows something about something...” Then Joan comes out is all “Hello shady stranger, I'm Joan and I'm very alive!” Then the dude is all like “Uh yeah peace out” and bails.
So Jay trails him back to the bad guy lair penthouse place and is like “He crooks, stop your crime! Also it's me The Flash and I have a cool costume now!” and then he catches some more bullets, finds Mr Atomic JoanDad and hightails it out of there to drop him off at home before going back to the bad guy mansion again later.
(are you all ready for this to be over because I sure am)
Anyway he hides behind a curtain and overhears their entire plan to take a fighter plane out and shoot everybody on Coney Island while also kidnapping Joan and DadJoan again (this time v quietly)
Naturally Jay is like, not on your life! (but instead of stopping it right then and there) he waits till the attack the next day and shows off a spectacle of powers, catching all the bullets from the plane's machine gun, then zipping across town to stop the kidnapping. Then after killing his partners, one of the bad guy's gets away in a new extra fast getaway car that's SO fast that he can't control how fast it is when taking a tight cliff-side turn because Jay spooked him because he was just that fast.
Get it guys? He's the flash! He goes quick! He's speedy! So swift! Wow!
Anyway, the goon goes over the edge in his car, and Jay doesn't even attempt to save him, but instead beats the car to the bottom of the ravine to gloat about how he stopped the goons as the car comes to a smoldering halt. Classic hero work.
Then the last three panels (because there wasn't enough story already) Mr Joan is all like “man that Flash guy... wonder who he is under that helmet... he wasn't even wearing a mask or anything! I'm just stumped Jay! Who could he be?!”
To which Joan is all “idk Dad, oh by the way Garrick, you killed a man and your secret is safe with me! *wink*!”
Geez, Gardner Fox was a wordy guy...

Has anyone ever been curious what it would be like for Zoom to go head to head with Captain Cold?
I can say that I was interested in the concept (with the possible concept of a sequel to my Rouges vs Flash series)
Not too much to say with this shot in particular. It was actually the last set-up shot I took, in order to give the set a more rounded feel to it.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this one, and the others to come :)
Don't you ever wonder where the path may lead and who's walked it before you? Doesn't it make you want to take that first step?
This big hairy fella seems to have come into the possession of some kind of ancient power-source... to turn everyone into apes? I sure hope not....
Now here we find ourselves at the being of the end of The Rouges series.
And who else is better to wrap up the series than Gorilla Grodd?
Now don't worry, I'm sure there will be more to see of The Flash and his enemies, but the final phase of my Flash project I started months ago is soon coming to a close.
Left to Right Top: Nightwing, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Aquaman.
Left to Right Bottom: Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Flash and Black Canary.
Fisrt of all, apologies for the recent inactivity, I haven't had a lot of characters made and was stalling to upload them, also I've been busy with school, but I'll get more stuff done this week. Now, I've wanted to make this version of Reverse Flash for a while, I was worried about how he would turn out, but I love the end result.
Originally wasn't going to upload these, but they've slowly grown on me so... yeah :P
Trickster's primarily based on his appearance in JL:U
Here's the "Alternate Shot" of my Professor Zoom minifig. I tried something a little different with this piece, by taking two similar (but inherently differently lit images) to then overlay in photoshop to give off the affect of a longer shutter speed. To give it a feel of movement without losing the sharpness that I wanted with Thawne's eye's and emblem.
I personally, really enjoy how this one turned out.
I tried to imagine what some of the characters would look like if they were in the DCEU.
I also made some gold bracelets for Wonder Woman.
Left to Right: Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, Cyborg, Batman, Martian Manhunter, The Flash and Robin.
Heat Wave isn't the only hot head in Central City....
I tried the multiple image effect I used with this piece: www.flickr.com/photos/thebritishbafoon/11787708163/ and I thought it turned out really well with an exciting slide-doge motion... thing
*sings in the distance* ...cuz it's the heat of the moment...!
(sorry, not sorry)
I finally finished Captain Cold works,
And modified the flash comedy works, a relatively complete confrontation.
Shot back when our fish habit was small, a 20 gallon jawfish tank where a 100 gallon plus bow front now sits.
Left to right
Heatwave- hydra head, Star Wars torso and legs
The Mad Hatter- penguin hat, Alfred neck piece, cmf Abraham Lincoln body
Martian Manhunter- MM head, cmf George Washington torso, Superman legs
Aquaman- Thor hair, aquaman head and torso, Robin arms, Atlantis chest piece
What do you think? Let me know in the comments :)

I had the amazing pleasure to meet the incredible Matthew Letscher today at a Comic-Con event!
For those unaware of The Flash television show that airs on the CW channel (do you hate superheroes, or just live under a rock?!), Matthew plays the Reverse Flash AKA Eobard Thawne.
I was fortunate enough to meet, shake hands with, and talk to Matt at the Con. I even got him to autograph the base of my BL[]CKIES adaptation of the Reverse Flash and Flash characters! That is incredibly exciting. I had built these characters to create an exclusive image to give to Matt, and very last minute I decided to bring them along as well, just in case I had this opportunity. I'm so glad I brought them in my bag!
What I found funny was that Matt, his manager, and other assistants gathered around to see these characters and watch Matt autograph them. (I'm really disappointed I didn't get to photograph or film him signing my MOC, but I was too busy talking to him! :D) Even a couple members of the public joined in to see them. I can't believe that I drew (a small) crowd in front of an actor! What an honor.
This Comic Con was an incredible experience, one that I will never forget. Apart from attending their panels, I also met and shook hands with: Brett Dalton (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Max Hernandez (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. / Marvel films), David Ramsey (Arrow), and Michelle Harrison (The Flash).
I also presented an exclusive image to David Ramsey, who after speaking with, really enjoys my Arrow vignette series! So exciting.
Had a pretty nerdy day, and my excitement is starting to dial down...but I still have awesome loot to frame and hang up on my walls...
Can't wait for next year's con!! Have a great weekend!

"Your time's up Tockman!"
"Cut the jokes, Dick, we're really on a... *snicker* ...bit of a time crunch"
Looks like The Clock King's hide out wasn't as hidden as he'd hoped. Nightwing and The Flash seems to have trailed him back to where he hangs is fob watch, only to find his trove of stolen goods from the past few weeks! Will the Clock King come over to the side of justice, or put up a fight? We'll just have to wait and see!
If you couldn't already tell, we've got another four part series on our hands, with a few new characters on the table! The King's design is influenced loosely on the BTAS's appearance of the character. That was in fact my first exposure to the character, and I absolutely loved the stories he was featured in.
Anyway, just wanted to do a bit of homage to the character and it turned into a series, so I hope you guys enjoy what is to come :)
From the Justice League portion of the Warner Brothers Pictures presentation at San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H on Saturday July 22nd 2017
"Look out!" Flash shouted as Clock King drew a gun and switched on his time altering device. "Think fast!" he mocked as he began to fade from Grayson's vision. Barry only had miliseconds before that gun would go off! He watched as Tockman's device altered the speedforce around him. "Com'on Barry gotta think quick!"
The stakes have been risen and William Tockman is no man for negotiation. What is Flash going to do to save his friend? Will he stop the shot in time?!
We'll just have to wait till tomorrow and see ;)
I took this portrait of beautiful cosplayer Haley Taylor as Flashette at the 2012 Amazing AZ comic con
Sick of these impostors, The Flash decided enough was enough. Time to show them what a high speed Flash could really do. Amateurs!

PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU FAVORITE
Part four in my justice league series. Pretty simple here.
"You know, I could get used to carrying a sword! Perhaps Diana would give me some lessons?"
"Don't bet on it, Barry"
Looks like The Flash was just fast enough to stop The Clock King after all! Sword beats Time Toys, apparently. At any rate, it's another case closed for these two heroes!
Thanks to everybody who kept up with this set! I always love doing these, and I'm glad you enjoy them as much as I like making them :)

Oliver Queen: You're late. Barry, how can you have super speed and still not be on time?
Barry Allen: Sorry, I guess the super tardiness kinda neutralizes it.

Featuring my custom the Flash, Green Arrow, and Supergirl minifigures. I painted the arms on Green Arrow, but the rest is not my own design. I painted the Flash completely, as well as Supergirl. I started watching Supergirl, and I don't hate it, so I decided to make her in minifigure form finally to finish off my CW Trinity. Enjoy and Happy New Years!
And just like a boomerang rounding back, the Captain is soon to return behind bars once more, all thanks to Central City's own speedster!
The Flash may have foiled this baddie, but what does he have in store next? We'll just have to wait and see....
