Dubai (/duːˈbaɪ/ doo-by; Arabic: دبيّ Dubayy, IPA: [dʊ'bæj]) is a city in the United Arab Emirates, located within the emirate. The emirate of Dubai is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. It has the largest population in the UAE (2,106,177) and the second-largest land territory (4,114 km2) after Abu Dhabi.[4] Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature.[5] The city of Dubai is located on the emirate's northern coastline and heads up the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. Dubai is often misperceived as a country or city-state and, in some cases, the UAE as a whole has been described as 'Dubai'.[6]

At the Dubai Mall waterfall is simply spectacular. The Waterfall runs through the entire height of the mall, traversing all four levels, and is adorned with art sculptures of human divers made of fiberglass to create a dynamic visual spectrum that complements the rhythmic flow of water.

"The Address" is a hotel located in the heart of Downtown Dubai. It has the world's tallest tower, Burj Khalifa and the stunning Dubai Fountain on its doorstep and is flanked by The Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment centre.

Over the weekend I had a couple of days of shooting at the Meydan Racecourse and I was lucky enough with a couple of clear days making Dubai’s skyline very visible on the horizon. It’s a very impressive sight made even more amazing by the fact that almost none of the buildings you see below were there 6-7 years ago.
Although it was a clear day, it wasn’t an easy shot to take as just below the bottom of the image there is this very brightly lit bridge that throws a massive blue cast over the center of the image (you’ll notice it if you have a look at the original). That’s the reason why I decided to go with black and white in the end. Anyway, I’m fairly happy with the end result.
