Textile merchants are located at one end of Kampong Glam. You can find almost anything here.
Kampong Glam literally translates as Village of Eucalyptus in Malay. In the old days, the bark was used to build boats while cajuput oil from the leaves was used for muscular aches and pains and for respiratory illnesses. Today, Kampong Glam still retains its strong ties with the Malay and Arab community in Singapore, as reflected in the businesses, food and people living and working there.
Squares is a Kaffe Fasset pattern made by my sister; other quilt made by her, too (this is the back side).
