The place where it all happens! In 2004 the former factoryhall was renovated to a textile lab. Students, artists and designers create new materials with a diversity of machines.
Done using various fabric sewn onto a cloth with a zigzag stitching, that was later dyed with ink wash.

A textile art project at Teignmouth. It’s a big ball of textiles, that was going to be topped by The Little Prince. I forgot to take a snap of the information sign, and also forgot the artist’s name.

Kimono Show at Nishijin Textile Centre.
There are 6-7 scheduled kimono shows daily for visitors to the centre. The show lasts for about 15 minutes with about 8 different kimonos on display.

This is one of my textile samples for my final piece i photocopied the whole of my textiles book and then ripped out stripped and layers of different pieces of work then used felt to lay it on top.
RSA-US Student Design Awards aka #SDAUS, is an award program to inspire collaborative and multi-disciplinary design-led social by connecting design students and faculty with industry needs.
Why do we need SDA-US? Why now?

How can I participate?
The awards are open to design students at US accredited schools. Faculty should oversee the students’ work, ideally by building the brief into the curriculum, by setting up workshops, and/or by individual mentoring. We'll announce the 2014 briefs and key dates in May 2013- so stay tuned:
