William Randolph Hearst's collection of Navajo textiles is one of the most complete gatherings of nineteenth-century Navajo weaving in the world. Comprising dozens of Classic Period serapes, chief blankets, Germantown eyedazzlers, and turn-of-the-century rugs.

Even though it was a Sunday, a demolition crew was actively tearing down this textile mill while we were in it.

My flatmate had completed her end of year textiles project with this scarf being her outcome. She needed some final shots to portray her story behind the scarf and i agreed to do them for her. The two sides are of the scarf contrast from a hippie chic to a very urban look.

Braintree Working Silk Museum, New Mills, South St, Braintree.
I thought it would be a good idea to walk to the Silk Museum until I discovered it didn't open until April.
But it seems that they will be open next Thursday for The Warner Textile Archive as it's holding an open day on Thursday, 18 February as part of the BBC's 'A History of the World' project.
