Call-to-action for ICA Boston mobile giving campaign

Simon's leaving do took it's toll.

My time was 27.31. Is that good or bad for 5k? I did run past quite a few people....though i was also quite near the back to begin with but I don't think that mattered...

This is how I was recently fired from a restaurant I have worked at for 9 years! Why you ask?! Because I asked the breakfast cook to get me a gallon of milk and carton of cream during a busy breakfast shift I was working alone. He wasn't able to have a cigarette between orders and apparently boss man feels that is more important than customer service. Whatever happened to teamwork?! Also because I created a "hostile work environment" by not saying good morning that morning to the cranky breakfast cook that did not answer my "good morning" every morning all week. I guess that is what happens when you're boss man isn't stable on his meds. What a shame.

Sometimes I sleep in my car during break.

I still text message my ex every day. [just as friends]

I don't have my license but I drive anyways.

Tracfone new-customer marketing: text message on cell phone; junk mail post card in background.

I consider this aggressive and obnoxious; I jut got your phone with 14 months of service and 13+ hours of time; don't hassle me, Tracfone! (I thought I opted out of every damn marketing scheme.)

Among the highpoints of my days are the text conversations I have with my granddaughters. Kids today communicate with text and photos taken with their cell phones. My most frequent exchanges are with an 11 year-old. We relate very well.

I can receive (but not send) txt messages.

Disclaimer: I did NOT steal this sign, neither did my father. Back in the day, or maybe still to this day, they sold signs like these at the San Diego Zoo. This was my dad's from when he was a teenager, he gave it to me and it's been hanging on my door for 2 years now. I will never part with this sign, I hold it very near and dear to my heart.

half way through our thanksgiving meal, i asked my brother if he stole one of the crescent rolls from my plate. after assuring me he did not, i resumed eating. a few hours later, dinner was over he had to get back to DC for work the next morning. a full hour after he leaves i recieve this text message. it took me about a full minute to realize what he'd done. i yelled 'son of a bitch' and just shook my head, laughing.

I get text alerts from Facebook when I get a comment on my status or if I get a message and I'm not actually on Facebook. I had quite literally just stood up from my desk when I got this text alert. It was a message from a lady named Jennifer who runs the Shakespeare on the Edge organization that holds the ren faire called A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians in New Glarus, Wisconsin.

I sat back down at my desk and went to the message. The message from Jennifer was her asking me if I'd like to take on the task of being their "official faire photographer". Well, heck yes! I said I'd be honored and there you have it.

I'm thrilled they like my work enough to bestow the title on me. They've been using my photos from last year (with my full knowledge and permission) and I found out last week that there will be a billboard in Madison, WI of my photos from last year's faire. And even cooler- my friends are in one of the photos! All I know right now is that the billboard will be up on 18/151 on the Beltline. The billboard will be up in the week leading up to the faire (so, after October 6th, because the faire is October 12th and 13th).

I know the general area the billboard is supposed to be and even though it is an hour's drive from where I live, I am planning on taking a photo of it and hopefully getting my 365 for that day with the billboard.

Greetings from sayno2cuts

I'm a graduate from University College London (UCL) and proud of the principled stand UCLoccupation.com and sladeoccupation.com are taking.

Together with a guy who lectures in other University of London institutions and one of my young sons we decided to create a large-scale protest artwork in Central London using only materials available in-situ.

We visited the shingle beach on the River Thames, which appears at low tide by the Royal Festival Hall, and re-arranged stones to spell:

NO CUTS

The smiley is 4 metres in diameter - not quite the scale of Robert Smithson's "Spiral Jetty" - but we only had 3 hours rather than 3 weeks! The installation "survives" successive tides as the stones bed down into the shingle.

The subject of this week's Picture This! assignment was a 200 mm Close-up. I am a little late in getting this so..... :-)
