Torn sign on a wall in Zanesville, Ohio that says "Suspicious activity reported to police". I wonder if the suspicious activity included tearing up the sign.

Had a whopping one day off today, so I left home around 8pm last night (after work, and after having dinner and a shower & packing a quick bag) and sped down into Ohio, finally stopping around 1am and sleeping in the trucklet at a rest area on US-33 near Logan, OH. Alarms on the cell phone woke me at 7:30am, and I went into the rest area (which was clean as a whistle) and cleaned up, brushed my teeth and hair, and off I went into a thick morning fog. (Which was kinda beautiful.)

Had breakfast at Bush's Restaurant in Logan (at the recommendation of a local cop), then drove all day today, meandering down US-33, then out OH-32 west to Mt. Orab, then north up various OH routes until I met up with I-75 at Findlay, OH. Once on the interstate, I blazed home, arriving a little after 9pm. Only did 600 miles or so, and didn't get a lot in the way of photos. ...but at least I got out of town, and that was important to me. Getting away and hitting the highway is my valium, it's what makes work tolerable. It restores me.

Even though it got down to around 40 degrees last night, I was quite comfy in the Trucklet, even needing to crack the windows a little to cool it down. (Perhaps I had a little too much piled on me to keep warm... a blanket, my hoodie, then a jacket over that. As small as the trucklet is, and as big as I am, it's probably a little hard to believe I can sleep comfortably in it, but I do and have, many times. Hey, it saves me anywhere between $50 and $80 on lodging, so what the hell. I won't do it on very hot or cold nights though. That'd be a bit much, even for a road dog like me.

Tonight's debate is historical, but let's hope it won't become hysterical..
