endurance races look and sound simple but they are not. It is not only a test of the horse but the rider as well. Each round separates the chaff from the wheat and only ones with good endurance and will power make it through.
Annual Weather Festival and Highland Games in the Small Town of Huntington Oregon.
A beautiful fall day in Huntington Oregon with the Bald Mountain Knuckle Draggers or BMKD and Huntington Chamber of Commerce for this year's Huntington Weather Fest and Highland Games. Always the first Saturday in November this event is known for unpredictable and sometimes brutal weather that will test even the most ardent Celtic athletes. Fortunately for our photographer and the athletes, this year's games were pretty comfortable with a balmy near 60 degree Fall day

Testing of Trench Rescue spot shoring. Paratech struts with 18" rails were placed at 2' depth and 6' depth at a 4' horizontal spacing. A 4' deep trench was cut behind the trench and airbags were used to pressure the earth and the shoring system. The airbags were inflated to their limits. Load cells on the top struts recorded the loads carried by the struts.
My first attempt using my borrowed "Opus OPL-M40 40WS AC Slave Flashes" from the great, Sir Jack Hillman.
Just got Peter to stand in the frame as I testing some different setups.
Setup: One flash on the ground behind him, pointing up , and one over my head pointing down.

The futility of it all...
I was testing out an app that uploads from my iPhone, so this is without any PP (and I forgot to crop the bike out of the bottom corner).
Part of a series of A to Z of images of London taken around the route I walk to work (Highbury to Southbank) or tube it home (Waterloo to Highbury).
As I had lots of pop up elements going on in my book I figured it would need to be quite large. This means I couldn't make the book from one big folded piece of paper so I instead cut in half an A1 sheet and glued them together. I also was seeing if a pull tab would work folded, it was clunky to use to I don't think I will fold it in the final.
