Testing my tiger linocut. More to cut away on the black and the green and red plates still to do. Must work on simplifying things for the next print!
Inspired by Nophead, manually edited the g-code file, lowering the extrusion rate in the bridge layer generated by Skeinforge.
This worked really well, and we got a stable bridge without any problems related to the overhang.
However, it turned out that by stretching the filament, this naturally reduced its diameter, causing the layer not to fuse correctly with the previous one.
Next try will be to also change the layer Z position. This probably requires some hacking in Skeinforge.

Different styles of bends were being tested here to see which produced the most optically transparent bends with the least amount of light loss.

There's only a couple of millimeters of focus though, so it's bloody difficult.
The famous illuminated tram, “The Western Train” is nearing the end of a massive two and a half year rebuild and will be on nightly illuminations during the 2009 Blackpool Illuminations, the first time it will have run in ten years. The restoration work has been painstakingly detailed and will return the tram to 1962 condition -except for the interior of the rear coach, where the clock is being turned all the way back to 1928. The work has been funded with the assistance and support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, and has been carried out in our own workshops.
