Coming into production in 1984, the Testarossa name pays homage to the famed World Sportscar Championship winning 1957 250 Test Rossa racing car. Sporting repainted cam covers. 'Testa Rossa' translates into English as 'Red Head'. The successor to the 365 and 512 Berlinetta Boxer, the Testarossa was the third in a line of Ferrari mid-engined sports car. The Testarossa's flat-12 engine produced 385 bhp - enough to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5,3 seconds.

I brought the cheapest used red bricks that bricklink could offer for this model

Red bricks doesn't cost that much so this model was not that expensive.

The difference from new and used red is not that clear.

This moc was abandoned a while ago, reason being I couldn't find better ideas to improve & complete the design.

The flaws are obvious, because only SC wheels scales best with an 8-wide build, and with these wheels I couldn't use any wheel fenders at the front as I wanted to keep the front end low.

And it's unfortunate red colour parts cost a lot more in my country, and I had quite a few spare light blu grey parts too.

So the end result is a Testarossa in wrong colour and with lots of gaps.

Built as a U.S.-specification example, this Testarossa was completed by Ferrari in November of 1987 and finished in Nero paintwork over a matching Nero interior. As evidenced by its original window sticker, the car was shipped from Maranello to Los Angeles and placed on a truck destined for Grand Prix Motors in Seattle, Washington. Its first owner was George Heiser of Seattle, and he took delivery of his new Ferrari on 14 March 1988.

Heiser retained his Testarossa until at least 1995, when it was purchased by Keith R Beneson of Kent, Washington. The car remained with him for nearly twenty years, travelling just 5,949 miles from new. Purchased by the current owner in 2015, the Testarossa was exported to the UK, where it has remained ever since.

In July of 2016, the car received an engine-out service, which included replacing the cambelts. Since then, the car has been driven less than fifty miles, and it remains in excellent condition inside and out. In addition to the aforementioned original window sticker, the car is offered with its original owner’s manuals (including the original service manual), toolkit, jack, and a six-piece Schedoni luggage set.

The '80s classic. Beginning production in 1984, this mid-engine beauty features a flat-12 producing 390hp. While (relatively) slow by today's supercar standards, this sleek design is iconic.

This is another refresh of an older model of mine. The updates are not major, though it has been built completely from scratch and I feel I have been able to improve a lot of the small things that I didn't like on the previous version. In particular, the roof-line and windshield proportions have been adjusted, and I've narrowed the rear sloping pillars to flow in line with the roof. There are additional updates to the bodywork on the sides and rear, and I was excited to make use of the great F40 rims.
