Op de tweede testdag werden ook weer een aantal slagen gemaakt tussen Lelystad en Zwolle.
ICE3 4610 is hier vanaf Lelystad op weg naar Dronten en rijdt hier parallel aan het nieuwe stuk van de N307 vanaf A6 naar Dronten.

Second day of ICE3 testrides on the Hanzelijn - again some trips from Lelystad to Zwolle vv.
ICE3 4610 seen here coming from Lelystad on its way to Dronten. The Hanzelijn is here close to a new part of road in the N307 connecting the A6 Highway with Dronten.

This was the BD-1 that would later win the contest for the most beautiful Birdy. It was told that this bike was especially powder coated in this turquoise metallic colour. What I liked most about this version was the rm-logo in a contrasting colour. The front arm seems to have two colours.
It has an 18 speed transmission. There were more special features on the bike, but I forgot them. Anyway, well done!
There is however an intriguing piece of rope on the front arms.

On sunday june 14 2008 we visited the Ökowerk at Grunewald in Berlin after we rode the origamiride through the Grunewald.

I tried some fat tires. "Because I can". After a testride I mounted the marathons again. The mountainbike tires look good, but are very slow.
This is the Birdy that Dietmar Böhm used to travel around Madagascar. In fact, this is Dietmar.

Made out of Columbus tubeset, Cinelli lugs and Campagnolo dropouts. Saddle height in this picture is adjusted for me to do the testride - mate's height is 7cm lower.
Most likely it will get fenders and rear rack soon.
Cinelli seatstay decals look good on the downtube :)
A longer loop (17.5 miles) to see what was misadjusted (the rear derailer, sigh, and the saddle height) or insufficiently assembled (the handlebars, the headlight, and the brifters.)

Until 1961 Katwijk was connected with the so called Blauwe Tram, or Blue Streetcar. This week, the Blauwe Tram would ride again with two cars dating back to 1911 and 1913, over a 500 meter track in the main street of town part Katwijk aan den Rijn. But during a testride it derailed.

I built up frame 11.5 for a test ride this evening, and it's not exactly a precision build. It turns out the rear hub was rebuilt before I got it and the axle is too long/ds spacer is too short, so even with the dangler adjusted all the way towards the small cog I still have to put a spacer behind the dangler so it will properly shift into said smaller cog; I've not yet routed the wires through the fork, so all the wiring for the front and rear light is sort of wound willy-nilly around the front rack; the taillight is shimmed into place by a bolt that's wedged behind the rear seatpost bolt, and I'm using a pair of steel rando bars because those are the bars that were closest to the top of the heap when I was building it up.
It's currently built as a 1×11 machine, with a 46t chainring and an 11-42 pieplate in the rear (a 6870 di2 derailleur will shift across an 11-42, but I have to tweak the angle adjustment so the upper jockey pulley won't try to mesh with the 42t cog.)
