Testing the third lens that came with this camera, a Tokina f/4-5.6 70-210mm.
Inside a rather weirdly-lit pub, no flash, hand-held. And not really taking much pains cos I was convinced the lens would be completely naff given the state it was in when it came my way.

The wiring test train was out and about on the Midland Main Line today. Here it is crawling up the hill towards Sharnbrook Summit, snapped near Wymington. Not sure that the driver of the following Meridian was too happy stuck behind running on single yellows ! The 91s in the middle appear to be running pan down, so possibly a positioning move. It passed me again an hour later travelling north so presumably reversed at Bedford

C'est le même montage qu'avec la Thomise Blanche, avec 20mm à 40mm en plus ou moins... avec toujours la bonnette en bout, et le doubleur à l'autre bout.

As you can see vignetting occurs. The pinhole is recessed to deep in the front of the camera.
Some adjustment needs to be done…..

First test shooting of DIY soft box!!
This one can see the light leak on the corner.....
Test shot number one with my new Polaroid SX-70. This would be 600 film with the cheap mod consisting of a cd case clear filter and fully utilizing the darken switch.

So there's some funny cropping on this camera as you can see. The final image is almost square within the whole frame.
There's actually more sharpness and detail than I expected, but ultimately this demonstrates why I'd not use this camera for regular shooting. Not consistent enough, and the camera isn't close to as easy to use as my Nikon F.
Barrie Howard Sykes Test Pictures January 2020
Trying out two styles on four pictures. Each numbered versions is a sharp rendition and the numbered and lettered ‘a’ version is a gentler version and looks more as the pictures do from a distance.
These images were shot in daylight. They have been edited to be close copies of the originals. The originals were created by magnifying glass from photographic originals. Barrie Howard Sykes was my father. When diagnosed with terminal Cancer he had time enough to find his way back to art. From his youth and before he lost an eye in a motoring crash he had enjoyed drawing both technical and artistic pictures. When went to Barnsley Hospice he was offered courses and joined the art group. The encouragement that he got from the tutor and others at the hospice led to his images being exhibited. He was thrilled with the positive reaction that he received. With one eye and the vision of that eye reduced and darkening he used a magnifying glass to see the detail of the original and to guide his painting. He was red / green colour blind and facing the treatment of Cancer and the reduction in life from the illness and treatment. His struggle gave him a focus to continue towards and these pictures are a record of his challenge and his answers to the challenge.
Once decided upon the image style there will be more details available with more pictures too.
