London Heathrow Terminal 5 is an airport terminal at London Heathrow Airport, serving the British capital city of London. After opening in 2008, the main building in the complex became the largest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom. Terminal 5 is currently used as a global hub exclusively by British Airways. The terminal is designed to ultimately handle 35 million passengers a year.

The building's lead architect were from the Richard Rogers Partnership and production design was completed by aviation architects Pascall + Watson. The building cost £4 billion and took nineteen years until completion, from the initial design through to opening, following the longest planning inquiry in British history.

Sadarghat Port the Dhaka City River Front, located in the southern part of Dhaka, on the river Buriganga, is one of the most dynamic places in Dhaka. Here, the Sadarghat Launch Terminal is one of the largest river ports in the world. About 200 large and small passenger launches (motorized boats) depart and arrive at the terminal every day. According to the officials at the terminal, 50,000 people, in average, use the terminal for departure and arrival every day. At this place hundreds of country boats laden with passengers and merchandise cross the river.

"Xunantunich (Mayan pronunciation: [ʃunanˈtunitʃ]) is an Ancient Maya archaeological site in western Belize, about 80 miles (130 km) west of Belize City, in the Cayo District. Xunantunich is located atop a ridge above the Mopan River, well within sight of the Guatemala border – which is a mere 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west. It served as a Maya civic ceremonial center in the Late and Terminal Classic periods to the Belize Valley region. At this time, when the region was at its peak, nearly 200,000 people lived in Belize.

Xunantunich’s name means "Stone Woman" in the Maya language (Mopan and Yucatec combination name), and, like many names given to Maya archaeological sites, is a modern name; the ancient name is currently unknown. The "Stone Woman" refers to the ghost of a woman claimed by several people to inhabit the site, beginning in 1892. She is dressed completely in white, and has fire-red glowing eyes. She generally appears in front of "El Castillo", ascends the stone stairs, and disappears into a stone wall."

There were so few people at the site! We almost had the entire place to ourselves. Amazing!

It was about 12 PM and just 5 or so other people quietly wandering. My guide did mention that on "cruiseship days" it is much, much worse and basically overrun with tourists from the boats. (Don't go on Thursday!)

The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal - The Rotunda interior dome spans 180 feet, with a clear height of 106 feet. The ceiling and pilasters are finished in acoustic plaster. The ceiling is especially striking with its arc of silver and the surrounding bands of silver with shades of yellow and orange. The marble used in the building is Red Verona.

One aspect of China I was impressed with, controversy aside, was the train stations and the terminals. Such lavish and bold statements in cities that you wouldn't expect to see such modern structures constructed in. Top marks China!

Like the Terminal, the new Transbay Transit Center will be connected directly to the Bay Bridge via a viaduct spanning South of Market streets. But the old viaduct (which at the time of this set's publication was, like the Terminal, still awaiting demolition) was a loop more than 4,000 feet long, while the new viaduct will merely connect to the Transit Center's west end (an off-ramp for autos will continue to extend east as far as Fremont). The new viaduct will replace the overpass in the foreground, but the overpass in the distance will be permanently removed.
