An elegant lady posing with a Morris saloon on a dirt road in the countryside. She is wearing a female suit in the fashion of the 1930s. A second car can be seen parked in the background. The Morris is equipped with a so-called L-plate for newly licensed drivers.

The young have already hatched. The male is removing their droppings from the nest.
The Penduline tit is rather rare species in Finland. We have no more than ten nesting couples.

Brand new and immaculately finished United Airlines McDonnell-Douglas DC-10 'Friend Ship' N1801U taxies out at Washington's Dulles Airport.
Delivered to them just ten days before I took this photo in June 1972, in 1998 she was sold to FedEx becoming N364FE and converted to a freighter.
In 2003 she suffered a heavy landing at Memphis where the starboard undercarriage collapsed and she veered off the runway and was engulfed in flames - subsequently being damaged beyond repair.
Behind her in this forty four year old image are a couple of American Airlines Boeing 707's and one of their 747 Jumbos plus the nose of either a BOAC VC-10 or 707 just visible by the DC-10's third engine.

the Bliss Tweed Mill is now converted into accommodation units, but was producing tweed into the 70's if not the 80's, steam driven Victorian splendour. It is certainly one of the architectural sights of Chipping Norton, nestled in a valley by a water supply and a (now defunct) railway. there isn't a wiki link or i would post it

The National Day of the Republic of China [ROC] that is now located on the island of Taiwan. The date commemorates the beginning of the Wuchang Uprising in 1911 that led to the collapse of the Qing Dynasty that had ruled China for more than 250 years.
In the interest of history, after a civil war with the ROC, the People's Republic of China [PRC] on the Mainland celebrates its founding in 1949 with a week long celebration that begins October 1.

Snowy Owl (1 of 2)
In a memorable short period of ten minutes I had two different Snowy Owls land in trees that I happened to be walking past. Both of these Snowy's are 1st year females and can be distinguished from each other by the amount of dark markings in their feathers.

The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde is a large complex of houses in the south of the city of Brugges. It used to be the home of a big number of Benedictine Nuns but nowadays is abandoned.
The houses are quite similar and in the middle is a big park that looks like a forest.
The place looks quite melancholic and austere. Like a small world inside the city of Brugges I tried to imagine the life of this womans inside this close and opressive community.
