I initially thought to use Microphen, but then realising that I'm working with a slow film, maybe a developer better suited for that would be best. That settled me on Perceptol instead; of course, there was then the thought to over-expose and pull in development. Thankfully I didn't go that route and shot the film at ASA-50, and I'm glad I did; the results were clean, good contrast, tonal separation and super sharp. Certainly a winning combination.
A note for my viewers, these rolls of film were purchased before the brutal and illegal invasion of Ukraine ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. After careful investigation and communication, I have found no connection between the people behind Silberra and those connected to the Russian President. Glory to Ukraine and prayers for the defenders and peace!

Coming strong out of the gate with the first roll. I'll admit these were not the results I had been expecting. I expected a lot more contrast and plenty of grain. But I think Silberra has a winner with this stock, sharp, fine-grained, and perfect contrast. I can't wait to see what the rest of the developers can do with this film!

Europe’s first 3D printer designed for use in weightlessness, printing aerospace-quality plastics, has won the prestigious Aerospace Applications Award from design-to-manufacturing specialist TCT Magazine.
ESA’s Manufacturing of Experimental Layer Technology (MELT) project printer has to be able to operate from any orientation – up, down or sideways – in order to serve in microgravity conditions aboard the International Space Station. Based on the ‘fuse filament fabrication’ process, it has been designed to fit within a standard ISS payload rack, and to meet the Station’s rigorous safety standards.
The MELT printer can print a wide variety of thermoplastics from ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), as used in Lego, up to high-melting point engineering thermoplastics such PEEK (Polyether ether ketone), which is robust enough to substitute for metal materials in some cases.
“This printer could be used to make parts on demand for the repair and maintenance of a long-duration orbital habitat,” explains ESA materials and processes engineer Ugo Lafont. “This printer would also benefit human bases on planetary surfaces. Crucially, it can also print using recycled plastics, allowing a whole new maintenance strategy based on closed-loop reuse of materials.”
The printer was produced for ESA by a consortium led by Sonaca Space GmbH together with BeeVeryCreative, Active Space Techologies SA and OHB-System AG.
The MELT project was supported through ESA’s Technology Development Element programme, which identifies promising technologies for space, then demonstrates their workability.

An iconic camera from the days of the German Economic Miracle and one that is well familiar to fans of the Film Photography Podcast. I mean who can't forget that soundbite? The Clack is a fantastic example of a mid-century box camera with big 6x9 negatives, easy to use and orientation in landscape not portrait. Plus a decent single-element lens makes this a solid performer.

“The Space Shuttle orbiter Endeavour and its crew of six glide in to Runway 15 at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility after spending nine days in space on the STS-72 mission, the first Shuttle flight of 1996. It is the eighth night landing of the Shuttle since the program began in 1981, but only the third night landing at KSC. Highlights of the mission were the retrieval of the Japanese Space Flyer Unit (SFU), the deployment and retrieval of NASA's Office of Aeronauts and Space Techology-Flyer (OAST-Flyer), and two Extravehicular Activities (EVA's) or spacewalks.”

演出者︱Joke Lanz a.k.a Sudden Infant

Sudden Infant

(Center of Art and Technology)」未來聲響實驗室主持人。

Artist︱ Joke Lanz a.k.a Sudden Infant
Born 1965 in Switzerland and currently operating out of Berlin, Joke Lanz is one of the most prolific and profound artists working in the border zones where performance and body art meet Improvisation and Noise.
In his Sudden Infant guise, Lanz creates a unique blend of physical sound poetry and epileptic noise bursts, using contact microphones, loops, tapes etc. The result is an extreme form of musique concrète that juxtaposes spasmodic gibbering with a battery of disorienting electronics. His activities in various solo and collective guises (for music groups, radio projects, theater and dance endeavors) .

Performance Introduction︱Sudden Infant
A Sudden Infant performance will typically be anchored by two main characteristics: the use of minimal electronic equipment on one side, on the other a strong focus on the human body, its reduced essence, and the sound-worlds it contains and spews forth. Sudden Infant is a vehicle for Lanz to run acoustic and psychic elements to their end by focusing on their bare essentials. Thus doing, he establishes an extremely tense aesthetic of performance, and tears down any preconceived barriers between noise, performance, improvisation, and electronic music.

And the hits keep coming; while this roll certainly has a lot more contrast than the last one, I'm not complaining. The images remain sharp and fine-grained, and while there is a certain loss of the mid-tones, the results are a much crunchier image which on a lower contrast day when I was shooting is appreciated.

Samurai still exists. Those formidable warriors survived throught time with the help of advanced techology. Their ultimate weapon is an oversized mechanical human-like body that gives them the ability to use their martial arts in a total deferent level.
Futures:
-Sturdy like an official lego product.
-It has all the major articulations of the human body.
-Compact size.
-Fits a whole minifig.

In the deconstructed zone there are whispers of a time of techology. There are hInts of when fantasy and the mechanical became the things of legend and nightmares. We don't speak of those days but every now and again artifacts appear to testify to what we dare not say.
