My nieces' school wanted Year 6 pupils to do a mosaic for entrance to the school to present as their leaving present when they left to start new schools. My design, using a mix of vitreous glass, gloss and matt ceramic tiles. 3D element with the lettering and pupils standing proud.
Another great trip to Hay Creek at Cottonwood Canyon State Park. We were able to install larger scale browse protection on existing streamside vegetation. This will protect it long enough to allow it to grow and spread, and therefore become established enough to withstand consumption and use by beaver: our partners in restoring resiliency and quality wildlife habitat in the stream. Green ants, Oecophylla smargdina, form chains of their own bodies to pull together leaves to make their nest. Here they are dragging on macadamia leaves - very tough, rigid spiky leaves.
When dealing with steelhead having an extra hand and a net is priceless. All fish were carefully handled and quickly released. Anglers: Jessie Hollenbeck and Andy Borden.

Another part of the challenge is proving that you have good teamwork. Each team split themselves up (some on one side, and some on the other side). One side had to make something out of Lego\'s, and the other side had to make the same thing, all with just communication.
