Mary Jane has been kidnapped, and Peter Parker fears that this happened because his secret identiy has been compromised.
The issue focuses on his desperate and frantic search for her, strong arming any lead he could find to anyone who could be trying to get to Spider-Man through her abduction.
This leads him straight to one of Taskmaster's secret training facilities. Unfortunately for him, Taskmaster has absolutely nothing to do with her disappearance, and even sadder, Mary Jane is literally right under his nose - trapped in a condo unit located directly one floor below his place.
This is my first time to actually read a Todd McFarlane drawn comic book as an adult - for those of you who don't know, McFarlane was quite a thing in the 90's when he left Marvel to create one of the most popular dark/gritty comic book characters of the Time - Spawn.
It was very interesting to see Taskmaster drawn with a dynamic almost living cape - a look that Spawn is iconically known for.
The issue itself had several comedic moments despite the dark tone they were trying to go for. I also felt like the events of this issue was something that could have been settled better had Tasky just talked it out with Spider - Man, since he was practically just minding his own business.

This issue is part 4 of 4 of the Magnum Opus Story Arc.
It takes place directly after the events of Deadpool #9 where Taskmaster, disguised as Deadpool was captured by the Thunderbolts. Keep in mind that this story Arc takes place while Taskmaster is heading the Initiative directly under Norman Orsborn, the very same person who is after Deadpool's head... not a good time to be disguised as Deadpool actually...
I enjoyed this story arc partly for Andy Diggle's writing and partly for Bong Dazo's art. The writing portrayed Taskmaster's skills quite well and with a bit of humor, while the art, though very nice and colorful, had confusing panels. So while both art and writing lacked by just a little, it was funny enough and nice enough on the eyes for me to enjoy.
Taskmaster gets a good share of pages that show just how bad ass he is. Taskmaster performs a noteworthy feat for his character bio in this issue, able to fight the Thunderbolts alongside Deadpool while armed with nothing more than the very chains they used to restrain him. The fun in this issue comes from how much action was packed into it.
Months after his last appearance, 100%, no - timeline confusing, no alternate reality version - confirmation that Taskmaster is alive!
In his last few appearances prior to this - one was in flashback form, one was in a "possible" future (where apart from the name, there is no evidence to suggest it was actually him) - was not solid enough proof that he was alive.
And even in his appearance at Deadpool's wedding back in April, I had doubts as to when it occurred in the 616 universe timeline in reference to his "death" on AIM island.
Well - this confirms that after he left the wedding party on that Harley, he somehow ended up working for Baron Zemo.
While I am not keen to purchase issues where he only has one panel appearances, my excitement for his reappearance enticed me enough. I was not disappointed.
The art style was very much to my liking, the story was a great intro for Sam Wilson as the new Captain America along with some quirky panels with Ian Zola who now bears the mantle of Nomad. There's even an enjoyable fight between him and Batroc the Leaper.
This was a good and fun issue, and the rouges reveal at the end makes me want to keep an eye on this series. I'm left looking forward to what happens next.
Being an actual practitioner and fan of Martial Arts, this very page is undoubtedly my favorite highlight in this issue(if not, in all of comics).
Tasky uses a judo move (either ippon or morote seoi nage) on Iron Man.
It was a major blow to Stark's ego seeing as how he was surprised that he; in the suit, got thrown over like a sack of rice with Taskmaster's bare hands. All while getting a lecture about the value of a classic art like Judo.
Each time I remember this, I would never be impressed by anything Iron Man has done since...

Weather started lifting on Thursday, breaking through into full sun for a couple hours around noon when we were up on Rothorn for arguably the best runs of the week.
Linds took a lesson from a Swiss ski instructor she described as taskmaster, and David, George, and I met her for a late 235pm lunch after we skiied nonstop from get-go until then. Best ski day of the trip.
