ARM Cuauhtémoc is a sail training vessel of the Mexican Navy, named for the last Mexica Hueyi Tlatoani Cuauhtémoc who was captured and executed in 1525.
She is the last of four sister ships built by the Naval Shipyards of Bilbao, Spain, in 1982, all built to a design similar to the 1930 designs of the German firm Blohm & Voss, like Gorch Fock, USCGC Eagle and the NRP Sagres.
Like her sister ships, the Colombia's Gloria, Ecuador's Guayas and Venezuela's Simón Bolívar, Cuauhtémoc is a sailing ambassador for her home country and a frequent visitor to world ports, having sailed over 400,000 nautical miles (700,000 km) in her 23 years of service, with appearances at the Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races, ASTA Tall Ships Challenges, Sail Osaka, and others. 30/365 - Saw this bird sitting in the tree, this is a crop from a much larger shot. The branch and bird were edited in tangledfx to simplify their shape. The image then went through Snapseed and mextures for some added textures. Added the other birds in superimpose from a saved mask made from distressedfx.
One thing that makes grocery shopping more palatable is the colourful array of flowers stocked by increasing numbers of stores. So most weekly shopping trips include long, lingering looks at the banks of flowers on offer. And once home, trying to find containers to hold all the delights that I have found irresistible! Some of the most successful solutions have been a little strange .... as here where a teapot has a second career! ;o)

Last time I was in NYC I went to visit my youngest daughter at her work place. She works in this beautiful Art Deco building, built in 1926 on the site of the famous Astor House Hotel, which had recently been demolished.
"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

Sonnenberg Gardens, also known as Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, Canandaigua, New York, USA, at the North end of Canandaigua Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The house and gardens are open to the public every day, May through October.
The property was once the summer home of Frederick Ferris Thompson, a prominent banker in New York City, and his wife Mary Clark Thompson, whose father, Myron Holley Clark, was Governor of New York State in 1855. The Clark family was from Canandaigua, NY. Mr. & Mrs. Thompson's main home was in NYC in a large townhouse on Madison Avenue. The Thompsons purchased the Sonnenberg property in 1863, keeping the name, Sonnenberg (which means "sunny hill" in German). In 1887, they replaced the original farmhouse with a forty-room Queen Anne style mansion. The property also had a 100-acre farm to the east. Sonnenberg's gardens were designed and built between 1902–1919, and originally consisted of nine gardens in a variety of styles.
