A few days ago I took a road trip to the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, in Quebec. This region is about the same distance from Ottawa to Toronto, but it seems so much more remote! Val d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda are the largest town and both are relatively new boomtowns, created by logging and mining activities. They're not touristic places in themselves, and that's one of their charms, sort of, I'd say.
Here are some road shots, to start with.

Today's image was taken this afternoon outside the central Hub area of Coventry University in the City centre. The view is of what looks like a type of Sunflower, although I could be wrong. I am not really sure what type of flower it is. I found it while waiting to collect my eldest daughter from a week at the University after she finished the second week of her NCS course.
The photo was taken using the app Camera+ on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I also boosted the Vibrance, Contrast and Saturation. Next I used the app Tangled FX to apply the Small Details preset. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to add the Recover Highlights preset, the Vibrant FX, a medium dark Vignette. I then added the Stucco texture and the Shadow II frame.

I used my own textures and processed using Photoshop and iPad apps, mainly Image Blender and Tangled FX

I started with the original photo in June, and have tried so many versions of it! I've forgotten all the slides and techniques I experimented with - but hopefully this is the final version ;o)
I'm not too sure, but I think the "Golden Pearl" is part of Chinese Buddhist and Taoist mythology/philosophy as being the pearl of wisdom or immortality.
The original rose shot is in the first comment field.
I used my own Photoshop brushes and effects as well as

2) 2 Lil Olws texture - embrace10

Small Details preset

I've been too busy with house painting and getting ready for winter to work on my recent E and A mount images. Hopefully I'll find some time next week. The important thing is to keep creating.
