HSS & HMM

I did not intend to post this for HMM, but some of you seem to expect this, so o well.... here it is: HMM.

Happy Macro Monday!

A tangle of rusty things with weeds growing through. Seen through the fence into an empty block that has been demolished.

Boats galore & mast confusion :-)

“The mind I love must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in the heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind.”

― Katherine Mansfield

A walk along the frozen Ottawa river, produced a lot of minimal type images for me, the deep snow and low temperatures were a challenge but enjoyable at the same time.

This botanical Gordian knot caught my eye in a sunbeam whilst I was photographing fungi. It reminded me of those light doodles people make with torches or sparklers in front of cameras.

Tangle Creek is along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. It was an easy 5 minute scramble to get here from the parking area.

It surely seems to be in a very difficult - even hopeless - situation, this tree in the woods round Beisbroek, Flanders. I suppose it must have been the victim of a storm.

We passed it on our walk from Beisbroek, a castle that is now a museum and observatory, to Tudor Castle (see my previous photos). The walk is signposted as 'The Heath Walk'.

The young tree next to it is giving hope for the future.

Shortie was in a bit of a challenging spot trying to get focus with grass in front of it and far away for my 400mm lens but the closest one we seen today. lol!
