The word 'Istanbul' adds magic to our imagery.
Architecture, tapestry, jewellery, silks, species... all beauties of Istanbul (Turkey) still come to Life in the city.
In its long history, Istanbul has served as the capital city of the Roman Empire (330–395), the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire (395–1204 and 1261–1453), the Latin Empire (1204–1261), and the Ottoman Empire (1453–1922).
The Ottoman Turks built the Anadoluhisarı on the Asian side of the Bosphorus in 1394, and the Rumelihisarı at the opposite (European) shore, in 1452, a year before the conquest of Constantinople. The main purpose of these castles, armed with the long range Balyemez (Faule Metze) cannons, was to block the sea traffic of the Bosphorus and prevent the support ships from the Genoese colonies on the Black Sea ports, such as Caffa, Sinop, and Amasra, from reaching Constantinople and helping the Byzantines during the Turkish siege of the city.
The city was chosen as joint European Capital of Culture for 2010. The historic areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.

It is a fairy tale called Saiful Malook, written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh... And due to the fame of this story this lake is named as "Saiful Malook".
The story is about a Persian prince named Saif ul Malook who fell in love with a fairy named Badi ul Jamal whom he saw in his dreams. The prince thus started his journey to find his beloved fairy Badi ul Jamal. He was clueless in his restless journey until he met a Devish (holy man), who told him how he can find her. Devish also told him that he had to go through many exams before he could find and marry Badi ul Jamal, because she was a fairy and prince was human. The prince then starts his journey for the impossible in the name of his love. The rest of the story chronicles the challenges he faced during his journey and the spiritual lessons he learned on the way.
Hung out for a bit in SL and TP'd around various spots. Ended my journey at FAIRY TALES before logging off... still tired AF from packing for my next move IRL, should be done this weekend.
The move will happen next week... staying with some relatives in NY for a while as I look for a new crib.
Oh ya... this is my first Rez Day! I began my SL journey last year on April 8, 2021. ^_^
Good night...

machine stitching in book with short stories by Edgar Allen Poe. The first story being "The Tell-Tale Heart"
Many years ago at the Saarbrücken library I started reading my kid a story from a book of Russian fairy tales. It was quite long (a story of twists and turns it was) so we left the pretty princess emprisonned in an impregnable copper tower to be delivered by her hardy hearted suitor on the next Saturday. Damnation... the book was gone. And the next week it was not back yet. It didn'tshow up the week afterwards either. Then we moved out of Saarbrücken, and to this day, wonder how the story went on. And this is why I insist on owning the books I read. The facade here reminded me of the copper tower, but that still doesn't tell me the end of the story.

So many things I would like to say!
First of all, a huge thank you to Nai for exhibiting my works at DBL. Without her constant support and encouragement, I would have been a lot less today.
A huge thank you as well to all who came for the opening, and I MAY be planning something for those who bought my works that day. ;) The works will be up there until the end of May, featuring fabulous work from Zolar Merlin as well, do feel free to drop by slurl.com/secondlife/Casablanca Estates Two/87/234/1927
Well, I can't believe the last time I posted something was nearly two months ago. RL work swarmed in and I couldn't go back to SL at all.
I was finally free last week, but after stopping for so long, it was really very difficult to get back. I'm woefully rusty and behind with everything SL and flickr. I had waited eagerly for the holiday and I thought I could bounce back quickly, but I was wrong; I was generally uninspired and rather confused.
Well, enough of my ranting! I saw an outfit featured by carthalis rossini www.flickr.com/photos/carthalis/4608378193/ and immediately knew that I had to check out AVid. I was amazed by the range and quality, and this outfit really caught my eye, and finally something inspired me to do something. It wasn't easy though, I'm still terribly rusty.
Well, I'm still ranting. Pardon me, I have been saving up nearly two months of rant. Glad to be back and hope to get more inspired and get used to everything again :D

On a hike at the Lake District, we got little lost when taking a wrong path that took us further inland and not so much uphill. But I was quite happy when I found other interesting things, and this tree trunk covered in moss took me to my fairytale mood.
Valeria met a bunny in the Dark Forest today. He took her to one of the forest pools and told her the tale of a ghost girl who lives under the water, trapped forever in that pool.
I found them just as Valeria was about to climb in to the water to see if she could find the girl...

I'm not sure what kind of bunny he is - edit: he's a Camellia Dynasty Bean :)
Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.
PS: I knew this isn't a great picture in terms of composition, but I liked the way it came out, particularly for that emotion! Taken at Malta on a dance show.
Jal Mahal (meaning “Water Palace”) is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India.
The Jal Mahal palace is considered an architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture (common in Rajasthan) providing a picturesque view of the lake (from the Mansagar dam on the eastern side of the lake that acts as a vantage point for viewing the lake and the valley), and the surrounding Nahargarh (abode of the tigers) hills. The Jal Mahal Palace was built in red sandstone in 18th Century and is a five-story palace, with the first four floors being submerged under water.
The palace remained uninhabited, was not maintained and hence not visited by tourists. To remove the ecological damage caused to the lake due to indiscriminate pollution from the city sewerage, restoration measures were undertaken, since 2001, after a detailed study by the Government of Rajasthan.
