Yes, I turned the saturation unrealisticly high, but this time it was with purpose because I liked the dream like atmosphere. And: the colors were there in the sky, no advanced editing here.

Rooted in history, this city skyline rises majestically against the expansive sky. The stone buildings, each with its own story, line up like chapters in a book. The pink hue of a notable building breaks through the otherwise earthy tones, a visual highlight that underscores the city's uniqueness.

I took this image in Cochem, one wonders what tall tales were spoken on the phone, and now it is used as a mini library with story books.

"The funny thing about fairy tales, is that we forget about them so fast

And we grow up, we buy things, we build up fences

We sell our innocence and forget our dreams

We forget who we are in order to be something we’re not

And we’ll keep believing in this so called truths, until we forget how to live

Or until we open our eyes, and wake up."

Sunny fog early in the morning, on a day that was going to be a warm Spring day!

A friend of tales indeed :P

Apart from resin on my clothes and skin and mosquitos and problems with the car, taking photos with these beautiful girls in the forest that day was so much fun. :)

Dusk within, dusk without.

While trying to focus a grass detail with a macro lens I noticed something moving in the background. A small spider building her thin web! I had never found a suitable situation to photograph a spider before, but this one looked really, really small, not more than 7 or 8mm. And she kept moving all the time!

I will not bother you with encyclopedic details about spiders. How their specialized structures adapted from gill branches of aquatic ancestral arthropods, how that evidence helped to understand how from multiple, multifunctional feeding / swimming / respiratory / walking appendages Nature has shaped specialized structures that enabled species to invade entirely new ecosystems and to establish new body designs. However, that tale is even more fascinating than the spider itself!

Many people refer to Iceland as the ‘land of fire and ice’ but the ‘land of waterfalls’, or ‘Foss’ in Icelandic, would be just as apt. Everywhere you go there are awe inspiring columns of water falling over basalt cliffs, or cascading through old lava fields. So I saw my fair share of waterfalls in the 2 weeks I was over in Iceland, but I think this one was my favourite! This is Gljufurarfoss, a magical waterfall, semi concealed in a cavern, and often over shadowed by its more famous neighbour; Seljalandsfoss. Walking through this canyon is like walking into a fairy tale, it just doesn’t seem real, a really beautiful place.

With such a contrast between the highlights and the shadows I opted for a bracket covering 6 stops and then blended them together using luminosity masks. I’ll pop up a few more shots of this location in the next few days.
