The exhibition is designed as a cabinet of curiosities, imbued with the subtle presence of the marvellous, rooted not in a sense of whimsy but rather in the sculptures’ capacity to distort reality and create a dreamlike atmosphere. His sculptural works with their soft, velvety monochrome skin, alongside his new black and white animated film and watercolour paintings, amplify the sensation of worlds suspended in time and space. The viewer is invited to partake in a form of active contemplation, discovering in turn a seated little girl with angel’s wings lost in her thoughts, a classic display cabinet showing a nocturnal pier with a Ferris wheel under a starry sky, or a life size enigmatic horseman with a little monkey on his shoulder holding a parasol over his head.

The historic Magnolia Plantation is like walking through a fairy tale After visiting the enchanted Plantation the fall of 2014, I knew I wanted to see these beautiful gardens in full bloom. Unfortunately a couple of days before my visit, mother nature decided to throw a curve ball, laying down a killing two day freeze. It was certainly disappointing to see the azaleas limp and hanging on the bushes. Once I overcame the disheartenment, I realized that the dying blooms actually added to the charm of this almost two century year old plantation.

I was in the AWD`(Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen) last week. I just love that area.
Originally meant as a basin to collect drinking water for the big cities surrounding it, it is riddled with canals, small forests and lots of sand dunes.
It is beautiful in every season but autumn is my favorite.
The area is inhabited by many Fallow Deer. (too many, some people think). As of November large numbers of them will be shot to bring the numbers down.
I was in the area at sunrise. As the sun rose, the fog started rising over the canals. And when there is a Fallow Deer jumping over that canal with the sun as back light, it really seems like it's part of a fairy tale.

The mountain town of Heiligenblut, Austria. We drove through here on our way from Salzburg to Lienz; it was just before tourist season so the whole town was amazingly peaceful. A little bit about the area:
Situated in the high-Alpine region of the Hohe Tauern mountain range at 1,288 meters, Heiligenblut is located at the foot of the Großglockner, the highest mountain in Austria, and the Pasterze Glacier. The Gothic pilgrimage church of Saint Vinzenz, with its needle spire, was built between 1460-1491 and contains a relic of Christ’s Holy Blood. According to legend the relic, which is kept in a sacrament house, was brought there in 914 from Constantinople by the Danish knight Briccius. On his way home he was buried by an avalanche and his corpse was found where three ears of wheat broke through the snow. The church also houses a late-Gothic winged altarpiece from 1520, and a crypt and tomb containing the remains of Briccius.

Life goes on, no matter what we feel and expect. What we think of it and what we plan to do. We still believe in tales, still expect them to happen in our life. As for me - I do believe. At least if it'll be just a good travel.

This well know war memorial monument is huge and makes everyone silent reading all those names of fallen heroes...
So this was my attempt for capturing this in my own style and feel...
Once upon an August sunset, a fairy tale pond reflected reality's lengthening shadows until they started shifting familiar shapes into new possibilities. Photo taken last year.
