Interesting lens, construction quality is subpar for Takumar and while lens is clean it is not of the same quality of Takumars of old. Iris blades were cleaned and work great
Color rendition is strange, and image quality is meh.
Produces interesting portraits but it was a budget lens at the time, and it shows
Testing out the macro of my Super Takumar now that it has an adjustable helical macro mount. I love the rich colors and focus.
The colony population is not big and there are always a few that appear to be grazing outside the construction. Occasionally a wasp will hurry out and make face contact with one or more, then rush back to the nest. I guess that they may be collecting wood pulp gathered by those outside.
These wasps are about 10mm long and at first glance look like bees, with a golden mesosoma mimicking the honey bee (but bald). They are not aggressive and don't patrol their area. Every 20-30 seconds one will fly away and another will land from somewhere -- always solitary individual flights -- but they travel on foot around the work site, much like ants in their movements.
