New toy!
ASAHI Pentax Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50mm f/1.4
Just waiting for my EF adapter to test it out.
Actually this photo is quite surprised me. Because it's so sharp when I shot wide open.
S-M-C takumar 55/1.8
Another Takumar 200mm f4 shot, handheld, wide open. A strange cat in the bushes watched me for awhile, then slipped away into the undergrowth. Seeing them in their element reminds me that beneath the fluffy exterior is a lean mean hunting machine.
This is just the third photo I've taken with my 'new' lens. A Takumar 200/3.5 preset from around 1959. It has a simple 4 element design, but a complicated set of 18 aperture blades. This photo was taken wide open.
I've adjusted the light and dark contrasts, but not the colours. And I think that's what the lens will need - exposure compensation and contrast, as the colours and sharpness seem very good SOOC. CA is quite well controlled - the photo was taken nearly into the sun. A good test for this lesser coated lens.
note: this lens aperture closes more than it says ( is faulty ), therefore
f2 on this lens, the SMC, corresponds to the half stop between f2 and f2.8 on e.g. the S-M-C 1.4/50
f2.8 = 1/2 stop between f2.8 and f4 on the S-M-C
f4 = f5.6
f5.6 = 1/2 stop between f8 and f11
f8 = f16
f of this lens corresponds to the half stop between f16 on the S-M-C 1.4/50file names of test photos have code to see which lens was used at which aperture. e.g:
SMC14.50.56 means lens used was SMC Takumar f1.4 50mm and that photo was taken at f5.6
