"Sariwa" is the Tagalog word for "Fresh" (as in, freshly made, fresh ingredients, yo that shit is fresh). In Baybayin (Alibata), this would phonetically translate to "Sa-Di-Wa", as shown. This photo isn't about graffiti or tagging, rather, it's about the technique used to write the Baybayin characters called "flaring". Using your wrist and distance from the wall to control the size of the spray, one can achieving lines that go from fat to skinny using this technique. Also, with the utilization of a farther spray, a mist effect can be observed on the fatter end of the line to achieve a shadowy look.
But, like all things fresh, it eventually goes stale. In this case, it gets buffed (painted over). Immediacy living a life of impermanence. That's the true meaning of life.

This is Shandi not wanting her photo taken.
I have been tagged by Kelly so here are some facts about Shandi.
1. Shandi has a thing for birds and not in a good way. If she can get a bird she will kill it, I've seen her grab a bird from mid air before. That was how she ended up at the shelter, she killed the neighbours chickens.
2. Shandi gets along with every dog, I have never seen her try to attack another dog ever. She wants to play with every dog that she meets and if they dont like her she doesnt get the hint. If a dog growls or snaps she gets even more excited.
3. Shandi is an outside dog meaning she sleeps outside at night time. She is inside any time we are home but when we're not home and at night time she is outside.
4. Shandi is a rather famous pooch in some ways. Not only has she been in our local newspaper twice she was also in a magazine called Dogs Life which is the biggest dog magazine distributed in Australia/New Zealand. And she has another photoshoot coming up in a week for the magazing which she will be in yet again.
5. Shandi has almost gone to the bridge many times since I've adopted her. I almost lost her at the beach when she took off after a bird, I was so scared a croc would get her or she's drown. When she swam around the point I really thought she wasnt coming back. Ever since that day she has not been let off the leash. Then there was the time she was almost hit by a bus and almost hit by cars a few times.
6. Shandi turns 3 on October 18th and like last year I will be throwing her a birthday party. Hopefully Cherry, Rusty and Andre will be attending. Of course I'll be taking lots of pictures.
7. Shandi has extremely bad hips which I constantly worry about. She's only three years old (almost) and a vet even said they were the worst hips she'd seen. Shandi was supposed to be my agility dog but that didnt work out. Her hips are so bad you can see them clicking and you can even hear them clicking. I know as soon as she starts showing signs of pain I wont be able to do anything for her, I just hope that doesnt come for a long time. Sometimes when she stretches her hips give way and she falls to the side.
8. Shandi is an extremely patient dog, she puts up with Banjo and all his puppy antics. As well as when my father visited about a year ago his 2 year old would always sit on Shandi like she was a horse. She would just fall asleep with him sitting on her.
9. Shandi was a terror when we first adopted her, she chewed everything! I went through 3 pairs of shoes in a week. She also chewed through electrical wires and all the plants in the yard. Pulled clothes off the washing line and destroys toys within minutes of getting them.
10. Shandi is my own personal miracle. I love her with all of my heart and I wouldnt have made it through alot if I didnt have her.

I made this tag album using the Hero Arts acetate tags, I used a heidi swapp mask and painted over the cover of this album, then stamped it with staz on and added some jewels to the swirls.

Tagged! A few days ago Astrid tagged me... So I searched around for a picture of myself. A picture that might describe and show something new but also something that show a bit of my personality.. Here we go!
1. I love old cars! This is my cousins classic, restored by himself in his teens. I both like to tinker with classics as well as use older cheaper cars as my daily drive... If anyone wonder, I run a Ford Fiesta 82 now..
2. I´ve mentioned my fling about history earlier on... That have now also evolved to me taking interrest in old photos. Restoring them and trying to find the history around them. It´s great fun but time consuming!
3. History again... Sorry! Somehow I derailed and started to try out old equipment! For now I use a pair of russian rangefinders along with my trusted Leica. We tend to think of everything new as better... That is ofcourse right to some extent, but the old tools still work!
4. Winter... I hate winter!!! It break every plan, it hits like a sledge hammer and crash plans.. Boooooo! To that it´s also cold here in Sweden!
5. I love the winterlight.. But only the light! The snow and the cold could be exported to someone in better need of it...
6. This is such a overused frase... But, I have a dream! And that is that my documentary pictures should live on describing the lifes of people here in my village... Well it´s a dream... as good as any...?!
7. I have a habit of misplacing things... Much time is then spent looking for those poor lost items..
8. I´m time optimistic! It´s to easy to start new projects.. And to little time to finish them. Can that be related to Einsteins theory about the relative time?
9. I love mixing different ages! I see no problem with using film together with photoshop processing afterwards. Neither do I see a problem with clothes mixed together from second hand stores...
10. Another dream of mine... Even if I mostly shoot pictures that could be described as documentary I greatly enjoy pictures of more artistik style. So I realy hope that there one day should be no borders between different styles of photo!!! That everyone could accept others work without complaints... All artistik work have it´s place somewhere!
Finally, this is for you Astrid! This picture was certainly shot with an old ancester to your modern Pentax. I know my cousin hade a Pentax Spotmatic back then... The dream camera of that time!
