Picked up these little cuties in Albuquerque.
The kitchen table we bought previously was a Mexican style piece from the 30's or 40's. We ordered chairs, but it took 2 months of waiting only to find out the lady ordered the wrong style and that we might have to wait another 2 months to get the right ones. We looked all over the place but it was impossible to find any other chairs to even sort of match that table. So it's now going to be my desk, and instead we found this ridonkulously cute retro table.

The Smurfs have many different tables. Different sizes, different shapes, different uses. One seats 6 while an other holds only a vase. All needed. All used.
Note: I thought several hours during the wee hours of the morning about today's challenge. What would represent both the Smurf Village and my own daily life in America? I live in a very diverse neighborhood. In the grocery store I hear Polish, Spanish, Arabic, Greek, Italian .... I love the diversity. But I read of others in my nation that would like most to make us all the same. Rid our country of "aliens". Limit who receives health care. Limit where mosques can be built. Make everyone speak English. Limit definitions of family.
.... I know all these issues are very complex. But I'm glad I live in a very diverse neighborhood.

It's my first lamp made of Senegalese calabash. Because of thickness of the fruit ( in some places it was over 1,5cm) carved parts are very deep. On the top of the lamp there's closing part locked by magnets. The lamp was painted with wood oil in rosewood color. Black parts of the pattern are burnt calabash surface.
The base of the the lamp is carved from the block of alder wood and painted in the same color as lampshade . The stand is decorated with black jewellery waxed string.
Height of the lamp: 38cm (15”)
Calabash diameter: 26cm (10,2”)
Base diameter: 22cm (8,7")

A section of the Long Range Mountains offers a wonderful view as you drive north from Port aux basques. Wind gusts in this area can reach 180 km/hr and have blown over many large trucks. We were lucky to have sunny calm weather. :-)
The Long Range Mountains are a series of mountains along the west coast of the Canadian island of Newfoundland. They also form the northernmost section of the Appalachian chain on the eastern seaboard of North America. In 2003 it was announced that the International Appalachian Trail would be extended through the Long Range Mountains
A table is a meeting point. For a fine meal, a good conversation, perhaps to work at or simply to get together. A comfortable armchair reinforces the feeling of well-being and turns such moments into precious occasions. Here we can opt out, chill out, recharge our batteries and look after ourselves one hundred per cent. The room is filled with delightful fragrances, pleasant sounds, soft lighting and stylistically consistent, functional furniture. This kitchen is our oasis in a hectic daily routine, where time can stand still.

Normally TV is accused of destroying your mind (not a view I subscribe to) but in this case the tables have been turned. This was found on the beach at Salthouse just after the storm surge. I'm guessing this was washed out of a beach hut somewhere but there's no real way of knowing.

Upper and Lower Table Rocks are two of the most prominent topographic features in the Rogue River Valley. These flat-topped buttes rise approximately 800 feet above the north bank of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon. Upper and Lower refer to their positions relative to each other along the Rogue River; Lower Table Rock is located downstream, or lower on the river, from Upper Table Rock.
The Table Rocks were designated in 1984 as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) to protect special plants and animal species, unique geologic and scenic values, and education opportunities. The remarkable diversity of the Table Rocks includes a spectacular spring wildflower display of over 75 species, including the dwarf wooly meadowfoam (Limnanthes floccosa ssp. pumila), which grows nowhere else on Earth but on the top of the Table Rocks. Vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), federally listed as threatened, inhabit the seasonally formed vernal pools found on the tops of both rocks.
The 4,864-acre Table Rocks Management Area is cooperatively owned and administered by the Medford District Bureau of Land Management (2,105 acres) and The Nature Conservancy (2,759 acres). Memorandums of Understanding signed in 2011 and 2012 with the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians allow for coordinating resources to protect the Table Rocks for present and future generations. A cooperative management plan for the area was completed in 2013.
