This narra table with two large drawers originally stood in the sacristy of a not-so-important church, a conjecture reached due to the fact that the top consists of two wooden panels, something that would have been unthinkable in a major parish church. The presence of the drawers on only one side shows that it was placed against the wall and used as a vestry table. A pair of massive wrought-iron handles attached to cone-shaped bosses is attached to each drawer, the width of which indicates its use for the storage of vestments for the Mass.

The table stands on six turned baluster legs with a pair in the middle to give strength to the piece. The upper part of the leg is ring-turned, while the shaft is fluted. The legs seem to have been truncated at its lower end to reduce the height of the table to enable it to be used as a desk.

Soft cheese and red wine - both better with age. And, an afterthought, this old beat-up and recovered table.

Upper and Lower Table Rocks are two of the most prominent topographic features in the Rogue River Valley. These flat-topped buttes rise approximately 800 feet above the north bank of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon. Upper and Lower refer to their positions relative to each other along the Rogue River; Lower Table Rock is located downstream, or lower on the river, from Upper Table Rock.

The Table Rocks were designated in 1984 as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) to protect special plants and animal species, unique geologic and scenic values, and education opportunities. The remarkable diversity of the Table Rocks includes a spectacular spring wildflower display of over 75 species, including the dwarf wooly meadowfoam (Limnanthes floccosa ssp. pumila), which grows nowhere else on Earth but on the top of the Table Rocks. Vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), federally listed as threatened, inhabit the seasonally formed vernal pools found on the tops of both rocks.

The 4,864-acre Table Rocks Management Area is cooperatively owned and administered by the Medford District Bureau of Land Management (2,105 acres) and The Nature Conservancy (2,759 acres). Memorandums of Understanding signed in 2011 and 2012 with the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians allow for coordinating resources to protect the Table Rocks for present and future generations. A cooperative management plan for the area was completed in 2013.

From Interstate 5, take Exit #33 heading east one mile on East Pine Street and turn north at the signal onto Table Rock Road. Drive 5.3 miles to Modoc Road and turn north. The trailhead is accessible off Modoc Road.

The Upper Table Rock trail is approximately 2.5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 736 feet. Allow 2 to 3 hours for the entire hike. It is an easy/moderate trail with some steep sections. Good sturdy shoes and water are strongly recommended. There is no water available on the trail or at the trailhead. This trail is suggested for first time hikers.

On your ascent up the trail keep an eye out for the unique monolith rock formations. These irregular shaped monoliths may have been part of the original lava flow. On a clear day the summit offers a spectacular panoramic view that includes the Rogue River valley, Mt. McLoughlin, Mt. Ashland, and Pilot Rock.

Day 6/31

I was too tired to cook and too tired to go out for dinner, so we had fish and chips :)

work table.

It's very old, i bought in Valenza Po, a city of goldsmiths.

I shot this table last year (see comments) It seems to have lost some of it's shiny finish, being outside all this time. As of February, it was still there, but has been moved and stuff piled up on it.

Bored one day after work, I had some spare materials on hand and created a quick table-top Aquascape.

"The Black Coast" aquascape is in the background.

I went underwater fishing with my housemate and I really had no time and energy to shoot anything else yesterday...

This is the new "apéro" table in our garden made by Laurent. Avery nice place to sit and watch the sunset while drinking some "pastis" or a cool beer. ;-)

Spectacular forest hikes and mountain vistas abound within the Table Rock Wilderness, Nov. 18, 2018. BLM photos: Michael Campbell

A remnant of a lava flow that once covered the region along the western foothills of the Cascades, Table Rock stands at 4,881 feet above the northeastern portion of this small wilderness.

The wilderness was designated in 1984 and now is nearly 5,800 acres in size.

On this steep and rugged terrain, visitors can find a quiet forest of Douglas fir and western hemlock, with noble fir at higher elevations and crowds of rhododendron on many of the upper slopes

At least two endangered plants bloom here: Oregon sullivantia and Gorman's aster.

Deer and elk wander about in winter, and the northern spotted owl has been spotted among the old growth.

About 17 miles of trails give access to the wilderness. A relatively easy hike from Table Rock Road leads to Table Rock Trail. On clear days, hikers can spot many Cascade peaks in Oregon and Washington.

Not sure what CMV is?

Cytomegalovirus (sy toe MEG a low vy rus) or CMV, is a common virus that is usually harmless to people with a healthy immune system. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CMV is the most common congenital (meaning from birth) viral infection in the United States. 1 in 150 children is born with congenital CMV in the United States. More children will have disabilities due to congenital CMV than other well-known infections and syndromes, including Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and Pediatric HIV/AIDS.
