Another dip into the archives. It was the lines made by the walls, that drew my attention to this composition, whilst I sipped some tea in a layby. I don't recall noticing three gates at the time.

A long lens for close-up images like this is my favorite. Adding or using fewer extension tubes makes all the difference. In this image I used an 11mm extension tube, adding more and the scene become too dark. Yes, I could have increased my ISO but the Mushrooms looked perfect like this.

TRIPLE LANDING! I was on the cruise ship Pride of America leaving port and was taking some pictures of the lighthouse as we passed. The jet came over the ship to land on the airport just beyond the lighthouse. I fired off 3 shots as it went over. Thought I would have some fun and blended the 3 photos together in Photoshop.

Regulus ignicapilla - Common Firecrest

Shot at the National portrait gallery, London. I saw a lady reading a guide book, framed in front of window. Imagine my delight when I found by moving back a few steps, I could catch her reflection twice!

Sometimes the shot is just waiting for you!

Number on my husbands old bobcat. It has seen better days, but the peeling paint and the 3 caught my eye.

A few miles off curving left and heading direct into a lovely winter sunset, 60002, 60026 and 60095 are seen at Daresbury on a freezing Sunday 11th December 2022 with 6Z51 1158 Drax to Liverpool bio-mass terminal.

This shot was taken on a deserted beach in South Westland, New Zealand, the least populated part of the South Island. The rivers in the region are mostly snow fed from the Southern Alps where they run through rain forests before reaching the coast. The beaches are scattered with drift wood of many tree species and some of the logs are from specimans dating back up to 200 years.

If the swift pouillot posted yesterday is fast, this Roitelet with triple headband is even more so!

From afar I spotted finches bathing in a puddle in a dark corner of the park, I approach for better visibility, missed they flew away, to my surprise he was with them and he too flew away, I pretended to be dead for a good quarter of an hour, and here he was again, all very clean and beautiful with a wolf's hunger.!

I am very happy because it is the first time that I have managed to photograph it in fairly good conditions ....

This just goes to show that you can bird anywhere - all you have to do is be aware. Eagles have made an amazing comeback in Ohio with over 700 nests counted throughout the state in 2020. So I shouldn't have been surprised when I saw a Bald Eagle perched in a tree near a very busy intersection - but the sight of these majestic birds still makes me do a double take. I came back about an hour later to get a photograph and did a triple-take. Yes, there were two more Bald Eagles in an adjacent tree. That's a total of THREE Bald Eagles all perched within view of a very busy and well-traveled intersection and about 1/2 mile from my house. That's just off the hook crazy. Here's a pic of the two that were in one tree taken just as the sun was setting.
