25 year old female polar bear (Ursus maritimus) "Chinook" used her powerful nose to find a sweet treat hidden in the snow. Enrichment experiences such as this help to bring out natural behavior in the polar bears that live at the San Diego Zoo.

……We’ve a bag of pre-decimal coins of various denominations that belonged to my father - quite why he kept them isn’t known, perhaps he thought they’d be worth something in the future?! I do remember him always checking the dates and saving specific ones. The Chest isn’t old but fitted the ‘Treasured’ theme perfectly I thought - you may be interested to know that in total here was just £3, 16 shillings and 6 pence so basically not a Treasure trove but it’s still ‘Treasured’ by me. HMM …… Alan:-) btw a Shilling is 23.6mm in diameter so less than 1 inch - it became a 5p piece post decimalisation………

When Time Stands Still
This treasured heirloom watch belonged to my husband's great, great grandfather. There is a piece of newspaper behind the watch dated 1844. HMM & HTT!
Tinsel and Treasures, where Santa and his elves make a stop on Christmas Eve to renew their batteries, fuel the sleigh and feed the reindeer. Suspend your adult sensibilities and believe in Santa and the magic of the season.

My eldest daughter's first tiny little leather booties. I have lost so many of my belongings over a number of international moves but a few things are still with me to treasure. One of those are these booties. So cute and still in very good condition. For Macro Mondays the theme is 'treasured'. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM
!0 yr old photo of my family, Yoshi to the right. Only shadows so abstract and some colors from cubes and window light. Taken on a mountain hike in winter. HMM! Retro Polaroid!
This flock of Brown pelicans were seen over San Francisco Bay from the end of Pier 14 in San Francisco. The SF - Oakland Bay Bridge Treasure Island are immediately behind them, and the Port of Oakland and Oakland Hills are further back.
After taking a break from the news events of the day, I wandered into my treasure trove of images. This photograph made me smile...as I envisioned leaving the stress and noise of the world behind and just floating like a calm green bubble.
Reflections of the display of the Tang dynasty sunken ship treasures seen on a column with a mirrored finish.
From a short visit to this little hidden treasure I found in Jotunheimen National park a few weeks ago! I have had a special focus on adding to my «Artwork of nature» series this autumn and I believe this photo fits into the series Hope you like the photo!
Macro Mondays: Treasured
A small collection of presents that are invaluable to me... The garnet heart was given to me from my mum (all the more treasured as it was one of the only survivors from a burglary during which almost all of my jewels, including some I was quite attached to for sentimental reasons, were stolen). The stone and the wooden heart were painted and given to me by the older of my two nieces, who's just turned 10. The flower in the back is the top of a box that was a long-ago Christmas present from my grandmother. We were so very close, and I still miss her a lot.
My first watch was an Oris watch bought by my Mum when I was 18. My parents didn't have a lot of money but Mum made sure we were always fed and clothed well, so a watch for my 18 was a special treat. When I was 21 she bought me a beautiful Tissot watch which lasted quite a while. Mum always wanted me to have a lovely watch. Her Brother bought her a beautiful gold Omega watch for looking after him when he lived with us for 6 years and she treasured it. She always wanted me to have one but couldn't afford to buy me one. She started to save up as she grew older and said to me that one day I would be able to treat myself to a nice watch if she could save up enough money. When Mum passed away she left me and my Sister a small amount of money. I always remembered that she wanted me to have a lovely watch so I bought this beautiful timepiece, something that I love and will treasure forever.
A chest full of handblown glass baubles and shiny coins are the dreams of all treasure hunters everywhere. The last thing you hope to see are octopus tentacles guarding the bounty.

Sometimes the treasure that you seek is right in front of you. Just remember when you find it, hold it, take care of it because Love is the most valued of treasures.

They are all over the place
You just need to be aware of that they are out there
When I'm looking for positive things I see that I get more of them happening in my life
It's like a domino of happenings
I'm being fed like my little baby bird, the blue tit, but with positive stuff instead of more to eat
How nice to have that point of view
I feel fortunate that I can see upon things in a positive way, I learn much more by doing that

All that glisters .. .. Actually tumbled plastic tinsel.
Sideways look at the liquid filled container on the end of a toy kaleidoscope. It’s filled with tiny coloured bits and pieces that form beautiful patterns (see comment below) when reflected by the ‘scope’s mirrors.
FOV is 0.9 inches. The ribbed plastic container provided the blurring.
It's been a while since I shot any HDR's, so heres one from tonight @ treasure island park, laguna beach, ca
