Lots of hum and buzz nightly along the world renowned, Water Street.
Gastown is the historic core of Vancouver, and is the city's earliest, most historic area of commercial buildings and warehouses.
In the foreground is a Landmark Steam Clock.
Built in 1977. Raymond Saunders' first steam clock was built in 1977 to solve the issue of a steam vent in a popular sidewalk for the renovated Gastown district of Vancouver. Owned by the City of Vancouver, BC Canada
The steam clock's plaque reads:
THE GASTOWN STEAM CLOCK
Designed and built by
Raymond L. Saunders
Horologist
The world's first steam powered clock has been created for the enjoyment of everyone. The live steam winds the weights and blows the whistles. Every 4.5 minutes one steel weight will travel by steam power to the top of the clock. The gravity driven "falling ball" drive was 'engineered' by Douglas L. Smith. Each quarter hour the clock will sound the Westminster Chimes. The large whistle will sound once on the hour. The steam is supplied by the underground system of Central Heat Distributor's Limited. The component parts cost $42,000 and the clock weighs over two tons.
A few steps up the cobbled walk, we find a couple of dedicated photographers. . These two photographers had their sights focused on the beautiful, Sear's Tower in the background.
**I truly believe it would be impossible not to spot a photographer on this strip at any given time, day or night.
A photographers' haven.
Beyond the photographers, there was a street artist drawing a portrait of woman sitting in a chair. Various onlookers gathered around the budding artist. A light was set up beside her chair to shed warm soft light on her hair and features.
Water Street is lined ( east to west ) with inviting store fronts, all nestled inside the preserved historic warehouses.
Built in the early to mid 1900's.
The street and walks are made from meticulously placed, gleaming cobble stones, and lit up with beautiful old styled street lamps.
A recommended place to visit in beautiful Vancouver,

Manarola is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre, located in the Liguria region, Italy, integrating the municipality of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia. Known for its colorful houses arranged on terraces on a rocky spur by the Mediterranean Sea, Manarola is considered the oldest of the Cinque Terre, with origins dating back to the 12th century and linked to fishing and viticulture, activities still present in the local economy. It stands out for the Sciacchetrà wine and for the Church of São Lourenço, dating from the 14th century. Access to the village is mainly by train, through a tunnel dug into the rock, but it is also possible to get there by foot or boat trails. The image of the village illustrates the arrangement of the houses on the steep slope and the direct access to the small port, traditionally used by fishermen. Manarola is part of a coastal rail system, including the famous “Sentiero dell'Amore”, currently closed for security reasons. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 and part of the Cinque Terre National Park, Manarola is one of the main tourist destinations on the Italian Riviera.

I felt inspired to post another image of the Azure Window on the coast of Gozo, Malta after hearing the news of its collapse after stormy weather and rough seas. I guess it was inevitable, but happening only about 18 months after seeing it first hand is still quite an eye opener. A shame that it's not there anymore, but I'm glad I visited.

Another quick business trip to Clive and a rain storm was just subsiding with the sun peaking thru under the cloud layer getting close to sunset so its a race up the hill. Some of the best light is just after a period of rain...

A hand held pano of 5 or so shots at Castle Hill. Found this place a bit frustrating to image so flummoxed around and found some nice reflections to add to the befuddlement. Spot the tourists on the middle right for scale.

Burg Landshut in Bernkastel - Kues is a castle ruin that towers high above Bernkastel and from this place you also have a beautiful panorama over the Moselle area. This historic ruin is one of the most popular sights in this Moselle city.
The history of Burg Landshut dates back to the year 1277. The castle was built by order of the Archbishops of Trier Heinrich von Vinstingen and his successor Boemund and they are also the namesakes of this historic building.
In 1692 the castle was destroyed by a fatal fire and a large part of the building and its valuable possessions were lost, but the tower of Burg Landshut was preserved and can still be climbed.
It is possible to visit Burg Landshut, various hiking trails lead you to the ruins. However, if you find the climb to a height of 235 meters too steep, it is also possible to ride the Burg Landshut Express.

This is a photo of the centre of Skopje – North Macedonia, along the river Vardar. In one single view you can see exactly what Skopje has become known for today: the massive architectural and sculptural project Skopje 2014. On the left the neo-classical buildings with their domes, the elegant baroque-style lamp posts, and all around on bridges and squares the bronze statues that were installed in large numbers between 2010 and 2016. In the foreground stands one of those bronze figures – a typical example of how Skopje since 2010 has placed its cultural and historical narrative identity into the urban landscape. Many of the bronze statues from this period refer to persons, heroes or symbolic figures that played a role in the region through the centuries. Further ahead you see an equestrian statue on the 15th-century Stone Bridge, the historic symbol of the city. On the right is the white colonnade of the newly built museum complexes along the riverside, such as the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle. And in the far background, high on the hill, lies the old citadel – Skopje Kale. This photo captures new Skopje exactly as it is: a striking mix of Ottoman and Byzantine heritage with recent neo-classical architecture and dozens of monumental statues that now dominate the city’s skyline.
A view across central Skopje along the Vardar river, where old and new collide. Neo-classical museums, baroque streetlights and countless bronze statues from the “Skopje 2014” era line the waterfront, while the 15th-century Stone Bridge and the hilltop fortress Kale still anchor the historic skyline.

Another photographers magnet is the Church at Lake Tekapo but usually there is a bunch of tourists around everywhere as is the case here but with the magic of a update to my processing program its just really easy to deal with now using AI. From memory there was 6 people here in the frame. Got just the shot that was looking for...awesome.
Processed with OnOne Photo Raw 2023.
Great spot for a really different view. This is past the cell phone towers on the road or should i say sort of track to the Tokino Skifield. The Outback proved its worth on this one...so much so a 4wd driver was seemingly a bit annoyed a station wagon had got this far when he came past.
You can see Lake Taupo to the middle right in the haze with Tauhara visible behind Taupo town.
