We were at the car dealership today in Minden, La., and I saw this old gentleman in the waiting room. I was intrigued by his manner of dress (the tophat and purple gloves) and took his photo. I later found out from the management that he comes to the dealership every Wednesday and shines shoes (I suppose the reason for the purple gloves) and travels all over town to other businesses during the week shining shoes. They told me he calls himself "Top Hat" and will be 90 years old tomorrow! I plan to return on a Wednesday and am interested in talking with him. I was told that the entire time he shines shoes, he will fill your head with jokes and stories from his past. I am sure those are some very interesting stories!

See what happens when Nelson offers to drive 4 of his real estate colleagues around town on caravan? And one is also photographer who just HAD to take a picture of these lovely 'summer grasses' that Nelson spotted from the driver's seat?
So since I'm sitting right in the middle and no one else really wanted to get out, he opens up the sunroof so I could take this pic from the top of his car. Now, that's teamwork!
You can see better in the detail shot that this determined little weed was flourishing at the top of the sign. It was actually growing from under the cement sidewalk, reaching for the blue sky and sunshine to enrich it's life.
Maybe even still, the best is yet to come for it :)))

I am happy to see that the one titled Hope made it close to the top because that was the one I auctioned for Japan Relief. Heartfelt thanks to Roger (Rogvon) for being the winning bidder. Your generosity will never be forgotten. As well as all my Flickr contacts who helped support the relief effort by making cranes and/or donating prints of their pictures. I am also very happy for the new contacts I have met from Japan in the process of promoting for the relief effort. I am finding much of your work to be very inspiring and I enjoy knowing you.
Five of the pics were edited on my iPad, a new direction for me and one I will continue to develop. When I started the Amazing iPhoneography group earlier in 2011, I did not have an iPhone. The group has over 4500 members now. And now that I have an iPhone, the new possibilities are endless.
Out of the various Lifestyle Series, only one made it to the top. Seeley's Furniture from the Glendale Series. The pics from the different series are Googled on a daily basis. I will do more, maybe not as many as in 2011.

Esse verde bonito faz parte da recente coleção Flores do Brasil, da TB! Se eu não me engano trouxe pra casa além do Bromélia, o Quaresmeira e o Flor Azul do Cerrado. O resto achei cintilante demais!!!rsrsrsrsrs
A esmaltação com ele foi tranquila, passei três camadas, pq com duas achei que ficou meio manchado. Apareceram algumas bolinhas em algumas unhas, então passei o Tc transparente da Ideal pra resolver o problema!!
Obs: na foto ele saiu um pouco mais claro, por causa da iluminação!

It was a long and hard selection, and finally cycle 1's contestants emerged through the pool of dozens!!!!
It has been a long time coming, but I'm still continuing with my cycle, it may take a while for the first week to start, but it's happening!!!
I'll be posting the interview with Melania and her fellow judges soon, as well as the aspiring contestants.
