The top is complete (and looks pretty big!) I'm hoping it will shrink down to a perfect twin size... we'll see! :)
Border is ready in 75%, so once I finish it and sew it to the rest, I will have to quilt this big quilt...
I used almost all my favorite lime fabrics and some pinks I love.

Just returned from a short trip to the south of the province to help my daughter celebrate her birthday. There is still no sign of Spring at Keefer Lake, it's snowing as I post this shot from June of last year.

'Pine After Pine'
One lank pine looks like another
In a blinding drive past however slow
Notwithstanding the snowflake
That falls in silence upon another
Its uniqueness lost upon a bank of indifference.
So does the gaunt pine stand
Apart together with millions of its
Seemingly Identical mates
haphazard row upon haphazard tree
Each began in its own cone
woven and sparked by its Maker in its perfect time
To jut forth and grow upon forest floor
Each design of tree a different life
A different future
Each identical to a bored eye
One felled by winds
Its silvered skeleton exposed
Twisted and curled as if in entreaty
The many grow as fiercely
As ice and snow and
Anonymity allow
Though none see,
The pine grows.

The stack was transformed into a quilt top in four sewing evenings. Today is for sandwiching and quilting, hopefully I can get this in the mail this week!
This photo doesn't show it every well, but the quilt is very green. There's some solid kona squares that are the same color as the elephants and sprouts, and a lighter fabric that's the same hue, which make it so, so green.
All of the fabrics were from my stash except for the neutral kona and the backing fabric (which is more green). Also, I learned that if you press joining seams in opposite directions, lining up the corners is a snap. I was always a press-seams-open kind of girl, but not any more! The corners in this quilt are SO much more accurate than in this pillow.
