This shape may be even older than the box shape of wooden lobster trap. Both are hard to find in lobstering towns now. Long gone are the days of making them into glass-topped coffee tables (sniff!).

Walking this morning I saw Baby drinking from this water bottle/dog bowl and took her photo. The young man owner said, "Oh wait till she finishes drinking; Baby loves to pose." So I waited and he said, "Sit Baby, now SMILE!"
And this is what we got - tongue hanging out to the side and jagged teeth, Baby was indeed smiling.
Don't you love how we all think our pets are the cutest and smartest? His pride in Baby was very endearing.
I was expecting to experiment this top down angle approach a while ago, but I never really took the change to do it. Few weeks ago I finally got the opportunity. Shooting exclusively in the street is always challenging, especially when we are looking to bring something totally different from what we are use to create (I'm not talking about subject). I was lucky to find a bridge with a kind of geometric ground then I just needed to wait people to come into my frame.

A colourful set of rear end helpers at Belmont, top of Crawford Hill, on a heavy coal train from Powder River which had split into two about 30 minutes earlier on the approach to the summit due to defective coupling which was quickly sorted by a man with a large hammer ! The approach to the disused tunnel is on the left. 8 April 2005.

A cold a windy day. One must have a strong grip to sit in the high branches today.
This photograph was taken from the top of a market in Kolkata. Down below one can see the well lit brabourne road and the Howrah Bridge in the backdrop over the river ganga!
On our way out of Vegas we stopped at this place called the Peppermill Fireside Lounge.
It's an off the strip, old school Vegas sort of place.
It has been here since 1972.
This photo doesn't do it justice.
It is a classic Bar, Lounge. If you go to Vegas stop in for a drink.
The Bar area has a floating fire pit. Straight out of the Playboy Mansion look.

Honey from Elizabeth Hartman's Book Modern Patchwork.
This is the 9th quilt/block made for CityCraft's Modern Patchwork Quilt Club - citycraftonline.com/
Quilt Top is approximately - 58" x 70"
Print fabrics are from my stash - purchased 17 years ago! Some are a bit "distressed" with faded, permanent crease lines which add to the charm (in my humble opinion that is). These are the same fabrics used in my Glam Garlands Quilt Top.
Solids are Kona White & Kona Slate.
Finished height of the prisms (aka equilateral triangles or 60 degree triangles) is 5" which makes my hexagons 10". Elizabeth's pattern uses a 4 1/2" finished prism which makes a 9" Hexagon.
The layout of the white banded hexagons was inspired by the Heximetry Quilt Pattern by Ali of asquaredw. www.asquaredw.com/2012/08/heximetry.html
Not sure how I will quilt, back or bind this quilt.
Once again, EQ7 was an invaluable help in designing this quilt.
