that is to say... it used to be one of the city gates of Zutphen.

FIrst called Saltpoort (Salt Gate) and was built between 1444 and 1446. It was in use as city gate pretty short until 1465 when it was closed. Since then the name was Drogenaptoren, after the citymusician Tonis Drogenap.

I'd love to know what this little discussion was about between these two mature Tree Swallows. It looked like they took turns "yelling" at each other with beaks wide open and then at times both at the same time as in this shot. Are they a pair having an argument or telling each other how much they care about each other?

Why do birds suddenly appear

Every time you are near?

Just like me, they long to be

Close to you

Why do stars fall down from the sky

Every time you walk by?

Just like me, they long to be

Close to you

On the day that you were born the angels got together

And decided to create a dream come true

So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair

Of golden starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town

Did not have the opportunity to capture Mr Rainbow this season. Managed to improve the PPing of these shots to get decent IQ. The shooting condition was very dim and shaded. Shot handheld with 1/8 sec. That's why I am hanging on to my Oly system for dear life - the great image stabilisation and Pro Capture feature.

Thank you my friends for popping by.

I really appreciate your visits, comments & favourites.

Wishing all my Flickr friends a Beautiful Day

Take care and stay safe everyone

I'm working on a music lyric video and noticed this transition on one of the frames from a still to a video clip. i shot the still at a concert that was right on the San Diego Harbor and the seagull clip along the harbor. Fun, fun, fun!

Worked to death on the intensive and fast Edinburgh - Glasgow push-pull expresses introduced in the early 1970s, the BRC&W class 27s modified to handle these trains nevertheless served their purpose and changed forever the rail proposition between these two major Scottish cities.

For years accustomed to DMU haulage, passengers could now enjoy Mk 2 carriages and 90mph running. However the intensity of the timetable and challenging schedule took its toll on the locomotives - reliability became an issue and some of the units, particularly the 27/2s, were prone to catching fire. As a result, they were phased out in 1980 and replaced by single modified class 47/7s operating with a driving trailer at the other end.

Here unit 27210 is seen departing Edinburgh Waverley with one of the services, and throwing out no small amount of oily exhaust in so doing. An unidentified sister unit is on the other end.

Today the line is electrified and the trains have reverted back to units. Currently 100mph Hitachi-built class 385s operate a half-hourly off-peak service on the direct route and, with stops, cover the 47 mile journey in around 50 minutes.

Walk the park trails with my husband, Mike. We live close to several county parks and find time almost every day to walk one of these trails. Mike carries binoculars looking for wildlife and I carry my camera, looking for interesting photo ops.

Who’d really pass up the opportunity to take that hike and check out the sheer beauty and tranquility of those magnificent Grand Tetons....

The Autumn glow was certainly prevalent that day and lit up the place all around us.

Thanks for your continued kindness and most awesome support...
