This guy looked so bored when we went to the zoo. The zoo recently added a very large African Adventure viewing area at the Chaffee Zoo in Fresno and we wanted to check it out. It is really awesome compared to the small pens the animals were in before. Now the rhinos, giraffes, and elephants have a large area to roam around. But as you can see, this guy was still pretty bored.
Seems like the more you try to plan things out, the more chaotic they become. Sitting in a hotel in Minneapolis, MN was the furthest plan on the list. Taking a deep breath and trying my best to handle all the curve balls lately.
Ant and I wandered around the butterfly exhibit at Brookside Gardens this afternoon. Was fairly quiet with everyone celebrating the 4th elsewhere. And h-o-t! At least 100 degrees inside. Worth it.
Please view in light box if you have a moment.
Lea and Joyce, Ant and I would love to find a time we can all go together, if you are up for it.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to catching up with all your streams again. I've been away too long.

This doesn't go out to anyone in particular. I'm sure plenty of people have been through this. Been rejected, been stranded, or felt that way. I usually don't hold back the things I want to say. I'm pretty outgoing. But, the one thing I want to say to someone, I can't. It's useless. But, maybe in 10 years I'll have my chance. :) <3
Thank you. <3
add me!
It is nice to be able to come and go as I please. It brings a whole new dimension to my life I thought I would never have the down side is that I start to take it all for granted and don't always appreciate how lucky I am.
I have learnt a few important lessons over the past few years, the biggest one being how difficult it is being a woman even on a part time basis the fact that we have to always look good, think about what we wear for the situation we are going into, what we say and what we do being a man is far easier for men are seldom judged on looks and opinions.
Still I still like my time as Helen but I now know what a womans life is like and its not all fun and games!
It is however full of pretty clothes and nice shoes!
What more could I want?
A mini-series of photos back in Trabzon as a tribute to Sevval Sam who I saw at De Meervaart in Amsterdam last night. She sang a number of beautiful songs from around the great country of Turkey, incliuding songs from Urfa, the Aegean, Istanbul, Armenian, Jewish, Assyrian and Palestinian songs, finishing off with a number of songs from the Karadeniz area, which she has recorded on an album called Karadeniz. Here is a video of the first song: Hey Gidi Karadeniz: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpqQ5vLWGbk

NB: This is NOT Wood - it is concrete. Truly it is.....
Another shot of that wall from a different angle - this one illustrates the imprint of the wooden planks used to hold the concrete while it set, during the construction of the cathedral. (Thanks to green.ribbon & stringberd for clarifying that...) :)
As far as I was concerned , it made for a fabulous effect when the light hit it!
These flowers are not growing in my garden sad to say, i bought these to put in the kitchen window as we have had so many birds flying into the window, i am hoping they will see these and not the reflection of all the trees!

"To me this is like the days of Noah,
when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.
So now I have sworn not to be angry with you,
never to rebuke you again.
Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
[Isaiah 54:9-10 NIV]
5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)
2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)
3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)
4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)
5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)
Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!
He thought it was fair. She didn't. He was willing to compromise. She wasn't. There was silence for a few moments. She said, Let's just agree to disagree. He said ok. Then they took each other's hand and kept walking.

Lothian Country's 190 SN13 BFV a Voith/Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse Urban 2, on the service 276 to Bathgate, Wester Inch via Houstoun Industrial Estate, Ladywell, St John's Hospital, Craigshill, Livingston the Centre, Bellsquary, Polbeth, West Calder, Addiewell, Loganlea, Blackburn at Ash Grove and Bathgate (Blackburn Road, A89, South Bridge Street, North Bridge Street, Menzies Road, Morrisons, Whitburn Road and Leyland Road).
190 was new to Lothian Buses in early to mid 2013 along with 176 - 189.
2016 seen 190 get repainted and transferred to East Coast Buses with the fleet number being altered with a 10××× prefix added making 190 become 10190.
In 2017, 186 - 189, with 190 returning back to Lothain Buses, were all painted into Skylink livery for the launch of service Skylink200, 176 - 185 remained doing City work. 186 - 190 were subsequently repainted into Lothian Buses livery later on in the year once the Gemini 2 B5LH's entered service and the service Skylink200 was upgraded to double decker capacity.
In March 2021 186 and 187 were transferred to Lothian Country, in April 2021 188 and 190 were transferred to Lothian Country then finally 189 in May 2021.

In September 2020 176 - 180 and 182 - 185 returned to service and were all debranded from service X38 ( this was both a result of the Coronavirus lockdown with all services ran with double decker buses loaned by Lothian Buses so Lothian Country's buses could get fitted with driver protection screens and that service X38 was withdrawn due to low customer usage pre-Covid-19).
In November 2021 181 re-entered service after its engine fire and is now wearing the new shared livery between Lothian Country and East Coast Buses.

Another clown picture, i know. But, it's really close to final exams for school, so, i have no time to take any new pictures, so i'm editing old stuff i do have (cause i have been pretty dead on here for a while).
I sorta like the colours in this though. Kinda turn out the way i wanted. Of course, just fiddling around with photoshop, you can never go with your original plans (of either you not knowing what to do, or finding another button that changes the picture to something else). Much like my teacher always said, "The only thing that will ever be the same, is change."
Yayyyy! made explore!!! #42!
Taken while crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a small sailing cruise ship named Windstar. The trip from the Caribbean to Portugal took two weeks. We had smooth seas the whole time. This sunrise is so like a sunset that I have been dared to add it to some sunset groups.

Scotney Castle is an English country house with formal gardens south-east of Lamberhurst in the valley of the River Bewl in Kent, England. It belongs to the National Trust. The gardens, which are a celebrated example of the Picturesque style, are open to the public. The central feature is the ruins of a medieval, moated manor house, Scotney Old Castle, which is on an island on a small lake. The lake is surrounded by sloping, wooded gardens with fine collections of rhododendrons, azaleas and kalmia for spring colour, summer wisteria and roses, and spectacular autumn colour. At the top of the garden stands a house which was built to replace the Old Castle between 1835 and 1843. This is known as Scotney New Castle, or simply Scotney Castle, and was designed by Anthony Salvin. It is an early, and unusually restrained, example of Tudor Revival architectural style in 19th century Britain. Following the death of the resident, Elizabeth Hussey, in 2006, this house was opened to the public for the first time on June 6, 2007. The earliest record from 1137 gives the owner of the estate as Lambert de Scoteni. Roger Ashburnham is credited with building the castle c.1378-80. Construction of the castle began as a roughly rectangular fortified house with towers in each corner. The original plan may never have been finished, and by 1558 it is likely only the southern tower remained. In 1580 the south wing was rebuilt in Elizabethan architecture style, and around 1630 the eastern range was rebuilt in three story Inigo Jones style. The Elizabethan wing remained a bailiff's residence until 1905, but the eastern range was partly dismantled on the completion of the new house in 1843, leaving the ruin as a garden feature. Catholic Recusant owner Thomas Darrell hid Jesuit Father Richard Blount, S.J. in the castle while he administered to Roman Catholics from 1591 to 1598. Catholicism was then illegal in England, and during the second raid by authorities to arrest the Father he fled over a wall into the moat and escaped. The Darrell family owned the estate for some 350 years. In 1778 Edward Hussey bought the estate and his grandson, also Edward, built the 'new' Castle to the designs of Anthony Salvin, from sandstone quarried from the slope below. The hollow created was developed into a Quarry Garden and contains a 100 million year old impression of a dinosaur's footprint. On Christopher Hussey's death in 1970 the estate was left to the National Trust. Several apartments in the castle and on the estate were let out by the Trust, with tenants including Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher who rented the Belfry flat for a time during the 1970s and 1980s, when it served as a weekend escape for her from Westminster life. The castle grounds have played host to Shakespeare productions, notably A Midsummer Night's Dream, with the actors appearing from behind the bushes on cue. Old Scotney Castle was used as the location for the video to the Squeeze song Some Fantastic Place.
First picture to be processed on my return from Venice. Lots of these shots - mostly at a much higher tide with waves sweeping in at my feet. I'd imagine more will make it online in due course. This one got the nod for first posting as I liked the lighting and reflection best.
It's the view out from just along from St Marks towards Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, on which sits a church of the same name which is often mistaken for the main Campanile tower on St Mark's square itself.
This image is actually a composite of two - one lefthand, one righthand, manually blended in Photoshop 7.0 along the dividing line/pole noted above. The mix of spray and boat positions, combined with the lack of viewfinder, made it a little hard to ensure the gondolas' fantastic prows did not overlap with the poles. The "bulge" shown in the note above is unfortunate as it implies lax PS work - in fact it is forcola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%B3rcola) used to hold the oar, so the gap is quite natural!
Hope everyone is fantastically well and enjoying the week.
"Proclamation to the German people! The government of the November criminals in Berlin was declared deposed today. A provisional German national government has been formed, consisting of General Ludendorff, Adolf Hitler, General von Lossow, Colonel von Seißer.”
An extremely rare original copy of a leaflet/poster declaring the intention of Adolf Hitler and the Kampfbund to form a new government.

The Beer Hall Putsch, also known as the Munich Putsch, was a failed coup d'état by the Kampfbund which included the NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) in Munich, Bavaria, on 8–9 November 1923, during the Weimar Republic. Approximately two thousand National Socialists marched on the Feldherrnhalle, in the city center, but were confronted by a police cordon, which resulted in the deaths of 16 NSDAP members and four police officers.
- I saw you standing in the corner, on the edge of a burning light..I saw you standing in the corner..Come to me again, in the cold, cold night..You make me feel a little older, like a full grown woman might but when youre gone I grow colder, come to me again in the cold, cold night..I see you walking by my front door, I hear the creaking of the kitchen floor..I dont care what other people say, Im going to love you, anyway..Come to me again in the cold, cold night..I cant stand it any longer, I need the fuel to make my fire bright so dont fight it any longer..Come to me again, in the cold, cold night..And I know that you feel it too, when my skin turns into glue, you will know that its warm inside and youll come run to me, In the cold, cold, night

Banko Cantina, a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar is located at 114 S. Olive Avenue. in West Palm Beach, FL. Originally home to the American National Bank. The building was later also known as the Commercial and Savings Bank and Morrison's Cafeteria
This 1923 landmark building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
An era remembered for its unprecedented prosperity, glamour, and fanfare, the Roaring 20s were also marked by prohibition, underground speakeasies, notorious gangsters and glorified outlaws – during which time tequila trade became a lucrative business.
Banco Cantina and the second-floor club, La Terraza, will restore the fervor that once resided inside the very same walls through its delicious food and beautiful crowd – writing a story for the next generation to tell!
Don’t forget to take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd-floor rooftop of Banko Cantina. Enjoy beautiful views of downtown West Palm Beach along with a cold beverage to enjoy your day or night!

A mother/grandmother teach her daughter/granddaughter throw some small stone into the sea. I think sometime we can use the same method to throw away our distress...
Everything seemed to be going smoothly with my seduction of Lord Trembath - until we hit a serious problem after supper!
I drove His Lordship back from Yeovil on the A303. We touched 135 mph on some of the straighter stretches of road, and I was really showing him what my E-Type can do - whilst all the time playing suggestively with the stick-shift. We arrived back at Lyndon Towers in record time, despite being pulled over by a young speed cop - who of course let me off with a stiff warning when he realized who I was. The Chief Constable of Beaufortshire – his ultimate boss – is a regular client at my Mayfair Escort Agency, and so I have immunity from speeding offences (and many other misdemeanours!) in that part of the world!
Back at the ancestral pile, Lord Trembath played a few frames of billiards with my husband, while I changed into one of my favourite seduction outfits. I chose a seriously revealing ensemble: a leather micro- mini-skirt - which conspicuously failed to cover the tops of my seamed black stockings - five-inch black and chrome stiletto heels, a black open-tipped bra and white a see-through blouse that puts my boobs totally on display. I could see Lord Trembath becoming visibly hot and bothered as supper wore on, and I thought I was in for an amusing evening - and night! After desert, my hubby (who knows his lines very well) casually remarked that he had been shopping in Winchester for some new silk lingerie – a late wedding anniversary present for me. He hadn’t had a chance to see if his purchases fitted. Would Lord Trembath object if Lady Rebecca put on a little after-dinner fashion show?
Well!!! Lord Trembath did something that hasn’t happened at Lyndon Towers since I was first married. He made an excuse - and left! Something about having to be up early next morning for a charity cricket match in High Wycombe. I was scandalized. He’s turning me down, I thought to myself! How can this happen???
It got worse. I offered His Lordship a lift to the station in Winchester - hoping that he might only be shy in front of my husband, and would jump my bones when we were alone together in the Aston Martin. Not a bit of it! Instead, when we pulled into the station car park, I received an unctuous lecture about my ‘promiscuous’ lifestyle. “You are such a talented woman, Lady Rebecca” said His Lordship, sententiously. ”You have so much to offer society through creative entrepreneurship and acts of human charity. But I had heard even before I met you that you were dedicated only to a life of sensual and sexual indulgence. I reserved judgement, and gave you the benefit of the doubt. But it seems it is true – you embarrass the ranks of the English aristocracy through your sordid career as a call girl, and the promotion through your Sodality organization of many other unnatural sexual acts which outrage public morals and public decency. Even your driving on the public highway is a danger to the public! I prefer to save my racer’s instincts for Goodwood. I am deeply shocked by your lifestyle, and especially because in other ways you are clearly such a refined and cultivated lady.”
I refused to rise to the bait. Instead, I gave Lord Trembath a gentle kiss on the lips, and teasingly stroked his inner thigh before he could wriggle out of the Aston’s bucket seat. “We must talk about this another time” I said sweetly. “Why don’t we do lunch at the Oxford & Cambridge Club together? It’s quite close to where I work. And, if you are going to try and reform my morals, I will need a good meal under my belt before you start. Do have a safe journey! Toodle Pip!”
Damn it! Damn it!! Damn it!!! I do hate it (but I love the challenge!!!) when they play all innocent and hard to get!!!
Love and Seductive Kisses to All!

I happened to already have a pattern I’d drawn out for Argus, so just had to turn that into a laser file. It went pretty well, except that on the front the laser cut the outline first and then the window for the shutter speed dial …. Need to reverse the order so everything stays in place till it’s done.
The material is Gane bookbinding leathercloth, a pretty good match for the Argus leatherette. It cuts very well on the laser. I usually use leather, but that’s too thick for the Argus and the laser doesn’t like it.

Driving early morning in the one of the Philippines' province during my vacation working in ultra modern Japan, I chanced upon this farmer on his way to work on his rice field. I was only so happy to stop and let him slowly pass. Therefore giving me all the time too to reach for my camera.
Another Hartland shot and here we see Stagecoach Scania N230UD ADL Enviro 400 type number 15789 - WA61 KLP at the Northgate Green bus stop having just arrived with the above short working on service 319. In the background we can see Hartland Community Fire Station which has served the village and surrounding area since 1949. The building underwent a major refurbishment during 2014 that included an extension to house a 4x4 appliance plus various, storage and cleaning facilities. The rather splendid shelter recently replaced a rather rudimentary metal/glass affair.
Four times each day Monday to Saturday, service 319 connects here with Transport for Cornwall service 219 to/from Bude/Marhamchurch. For many years, following the withdrawal of all Bude based Western National former Southern National services at the end of July 1971, such journeys were not possible. It is only in comparatively recent times that the link between Hartland and Kilkhampton has been revived on a regular basis.
Route 33, Eden Quay to Skerries via Loughshinney, Dublin Bus, Summerhill Garage, KD312, (GSI312), Bombardier was photographed at the Eden Quay terminus of the route 33 in March 1992.
KD312 was one of 365 KDs built for CIE at the Bombardier factory in Shannon, Co. Clare between the years 1981 and 1983. Prototype KD1 was built in 1979 by FFG in Hamburg, West Germany. All CIE garages in Dublin received KD allocations and CIE provincial garages Cork, Limerick and Galway also received allocations, plus summer season transfers to Waterford Garage for the Tramore route.
All KDs were withdrawn by the end of year 2000 with a special enthusiasts farewell run on Saturday, 13 January 2001 in which KD114, KD353 and KC100 ran a special route 11 to Bird Avenue, Clonskea and a route 8 from Dalkey. The buses and the enthusiasts then diverted into Donnybrook Garage where Dublin Bus handed over KD353 and KC100 to TMSI President, Mr Michael Corcoran all recorded by an RTE News crew followed by a farewell cup of tea and sandwiches for all. Thank you to Dublin Bus for making it such a memorable day for all including myself who participated.

I have two little cousins that love to hear me telling them horror stories. The last time they visited, I invented this story, which I quite liked, so I decided to write it down and make this photo.
It was also really fun taking this shot. We actually went in some woods near midnight with a candle and a girl wrapped in a blanket. People should have thought all kinds of stuff!
Thank you so much for being such a weirdo with me, Giovanna!

England, 1863. It was a late winter night. The cold wind blew through the large stone corridors of the Brocklehurst mansion. Not much could be seen, once several of the candles responsible for lightning the place were already dead. The brightest place in the whole house was the west-wing living room, inhabited by two siblings sitting by the fireplace, each one involved by a thick, brown blanket. Annabelle and Jonah were completely by themselves. Even though the family once was very influent and rich in the town, it all ended when their mother mysteriously passed away. Her body was found in the woods surrounding the house, with no apparent wound or signs of struggle. Her health was perfect and some sudden illness was very unlikely. Some would say her soul was taken by the dark spirits of the forest, as told by an old legend a lot of people refused to believe.
Since her death, the Lord Brocklehurst lost all his will to live. The businesses ran by generations in the family slowly decayed to almost inexistent levels. The mansion, once always brilliant and filled with maids, servants and delightful balls for the aristocracy, was now completely abandoned and infested with spiders, rats and dust. Some would say the Lord even lost his savvy. It was common enough to him to depart with no warning, leaving his children behind.
“I wonder when dad will come back this time.” Annabelle said to the air, clearly not paying attention anymore to the book her brother was reading for her. Jonah stopped, looked at the girl for a few seconds and closed the book soundly, making a cloud of dust rise from it.
“Don’t wait up too cheerfully.” he said, standing up and leading himself to the opposite side of the big room to give the book back to an immense bookcase filled with stories and tales, when the sharp scream of a girl made him drop it, as darkness engulfed everything.
“Calm down, Ann! What happened?!” said the tall young man, half-closing his eyes trying to adapt to the murk.
“The fireplace… It… It just went off out of nowhere!” she answered, with little sobs in her voice. The boy then found his way back to her side, making her skip a heartbeat when he hugged her. After calming Annabelle down, Jonah went to the next room and took a few half used candles.
“I’m sure it was just a wind gust.”
“It was not!” she answered, still with a trembling voice. “I was right here, I didn’t feel anything! It just… I think I saw something red in the fire and then it extinguished.” A chill went through her spine.
“Don’t be silly. Here, look.” He pointed to the fireplace. “The firewood just withered. We need some more.”
“But we ran out of it, brother… These were the last ones. It should have endured through the night…”
“Then… I’ll get more in the woods.”
A deep silence took place. Even though the stories were hard to believe, they didn’t enjoyed going in there, especially after their mother incident. But there was no option. They would definitely freeze without any fire.
“You stay here. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” He kissed Annabelle’s forehead, messed her hair, took the lamp and left the room. She heard him getting the axe, opening the huge front door and closing it.
Except for her own breathing and some whispers of the wind, the silence was absolute. She waited there, wrapped in the blanket, staring the nothingness.
(…)
The clock ticked for way too long. Something was definitely wrong. She was really scared, yes, but it scared her even more to lose the only one she had left. The last one who cared for her. Some of the wolves in the woods could have attacked him, even though it wasn’t common for them to come close to the house. She took the blanket, put the candle in a white porcelain saucer and left.
It was a full moon, but the clouds covered it almost completely. The leafless, lifeless trees danced conducted by the wind - a macabre corpse dance. The branches cracking with the movement created the eeriest symphony. Annabelle took a deep breath, swallowed the fear and went down the stairs which leaded to the wood’s entrance. Walking carefully amongst the branches laying in the ground, she started to look for her beloved brother. She couldn’t scream or make too much noise, because that could call the wolves’ attention. So the girl continued going deeper in the forest, with her path lightened by a simple candle, whispering Jonah’s name. She walked and walked with no sign of him. Then, a scream echoed in the woods. Annabelle froze, and so did the wind. It stopped completely, putting an end to the orchestra it leaded. She then realized she was way deeper inside the woods than any sane person would be. The trees were so dense she couldn’t even see the dim moon’s light hiding behind the clouds. All the available light was coming from the candle.
Then, with her ear now left in peace, she began to hear, far away, a gentle low voice calling for her.
“Annabelle…”
The girl ignored at first, but the calling was then repeated, a little louder. She recognized it coming from the southwest and began following it. As she went closer and closer to the source of her brother’s voice, it got louder, although it still was a whisper. Walking a little faster as she thought she would finally rendezvous, a glade revealed itself.
“Anabelle…”
She heard from the other side of it. Walking cautiously, she kept following the voice.
“Annabelle…”
When the girl reached the center, a weird feeling made her stop. She felt someone right behind her. She could feel its presence… Its heat. The hot breath right on her neck.
“ANNABELLE.”
It was no longer her brother’s voice. It was a scratchy, cold and rough voice, the mix of an old man in his deathbed with the growl of a dreadful monster. She screamed and began to run desperately, leaving behind the blanket right where the thing talked to her. The girl didn’t look back; there was no need to see whatever it was that was there. And this way she continued, running as fast as she could, crying and protecting the light – her guide.
After running for what she thought being a few miles, Annabelle found herself in another glade. As the weak light revealed the path in front of her, she saw something. It looked like Jonah lying in the ground. Desperately, she ran to it and when tried to hug it, the girl realized it was just a blanket. Her own blanket. The same one she left exactly there in her first escape. “I had ran in circles… Stupid tricky forest!”, she thought. Then she continued walking, determined to leave that dark hell and ask for help finding Jonah. She walked into miles, feeling devastated and confused, when another glade was found. The same nightmare was repeated. Again, she was in the same place, even though she walked a straight path. Nearly exhausted, she couldn’t give up… Not yet...
She ran.
(…)
For the third time, there she was again. The same glade. Annabelle picked up the blanket, wrapped herself inside it, sat down and started to cry.
“It will be alright…” she tried to comfort herself. “I’ll just wait here until dawn comes… Then I’ll find my way back.” She thought of her brother. Would he be trapped just like she was? Maybe he just couldn’t find his way back. Yes, they would find each other again. They would be together again. They would.
She stayed there waiting for the time pass by. Obviously, she couldn’t sleep – her nerves wouldn’t allow her. So, with a low, faint voice, she began to hum the song her mother used to sing to her in stormy nights. Her heart was calmed. She felt like her mother was there for her.
Suddenly, a bell rang far away, making Annabelle goggle her eyes on its direction. Eleven times that bell was ringed. It was the town’s old clock, telling everyone that the eleventh hour has come.
“Just a few more hours… Everything will be fine.” she thought.
A cold, lonely and singing hour later, the clock once again made its announcement. The girl counted the bangs.
Midnight had come.
Together with the twelfth strike, hundreds of crows flew from the woods in a skyward direction, creating a terribly loud noise that made her hide inside her blanket. Breathing fast, heart pounding in her throat, all she could think about for comfort was her brother’s face. She would find him. All would just become a terrible night dark. She prayed.
When everything became quiet again, she slowly began to uncover her eyes. Lifting the blanket, she discovered a pair of blood colored spheres staring at her. Her heart stopped. A death cold breath invaded the blanket, freezing her spine.
“ANNABELLE!”
Darkness.
To this very day, these woods are haunted. No one dares to enter the place. It is said that every full moon, exactly at midnight, it’s possible to hear a lonely lullaby coming from the woods. If it’s dark enough, a wandering dim candle light, held by the poor Annabelle, can also be seen.
Jonah found his way back into the mansion that night, finding it empty. Nothing had happened to him. He came back in a few minutes, just like he said he would.
The young man and the entire town searched for Annabelle, but she or her body were never found. She is still trapped there, for all eternity, looking for him, aided only by a candle. The clock she hears every hour always tell that the midnight has come. And it will never go away.
I've been waiting a long time to finally get a chance to shoot one of these little beauties (Slow Worm), and was lucky enough to have the Macro lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM) to hand with my 6D when one showed up in my garden the other night. The flower is a little daisy on my lawn if you're looking for a sense of scale.
Will be interesting to see how many people view / comment on this, as when i looked in on Flickr yesterday, the place was mostly full of lynch mobs all very upset about the new interface and there was a lot less actual photo activity.
FWIW, i'm not surprised or that offended by the new direction, c'est la vie, it was always going to have to change or die, so in some respects its good that they are at least trying to create a new flickr. And the new layout actually looks great on an iphone, i've grown to really like it over the last few months. The problem is that its just not quite so elegant on the desktop pc when viewed in a browser, as it looks like they have tried to hang onto some of the old code and page elements for practical reasons and that feels like a bit of a fudge. Having been involved in a few thousand site designs over the years i can appreciate the problems they faced and also think that it wouldn't matter how they changed it, the fact that it had changed would cause problems for some, its just the way it is.

Dalai Lama Speaks Out
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama spoke out against China's forced nomad resettlement at the Kalachakra teachings in Bodh Gaya in early 2012. In a rare audience with Tibetans from Tibet, the Dalai Lama urged China's leaders to “instead of forcefully resettling them, building of hospitals and schools for the nomads around their grazing areas would be more constructive.”
The Dalai Lama, who has been living in exile since he was forced to flee his country in 1959, also urged Tibetans to plant trees around their houses and monasteries in Tibet.
Tibetan nomads’ very way of life is inherently connected to the land. Aimed at tightening its colonial grip over Tibet, China’s resettlement policies are a death sentence for Tibetan nomads and their traditional way of life that has been maintained, sustainably, for centuries.
